Hello!
Well so yeah its time to come home "THANK YOU" so much for your last email! I had my exit interview yesterday it was a little bit strange but lots of good advice. I am grateful for President and the love that he has for me and the work, I have literally made a friend for life. I am pretty scared but you have to take off the bandaid someday right? I am so grateful for the gospel in my life and for this life changing experience and the opportunity that I have had to serve among these people, they are some of the greatest people in the world. I am so grateful for everything I have learned and experienced. I am so glad to say that I did serve a mission and stuck it out, its something that no one in our family has done! I am going to continue forward on that until I have accomplished the dreams that I have. I have been contemplating things that I might do when I get home, well that has been a rough one for me to say the least but I am confident now of the plans and goals that I have. I am thinking that I want to go to school to be some kind of surgical tech or something in the operating room, it is only about a year of school, we can do some research when I get home. I want to do that plus get started at MCC, that would mean lots of school but I have no doubt that I can do it. I am really thinking that its the smartest move, and then I will continue on at MCC and then onto a university and then on to medical school to be some kind of doctor. With the economy right now I would like to do some kind of surgical tech because that would give me a stable job and also experience when I apply for medical school, I think that that would help me progress the most, I have had a strong feeling that its what I need to do, and I feel really good about it! Well I love you and equally can't wait to see you guys! I hope that you have a great couple of days and well just think only a few more hours. Love you so much, Thanks for being my Mom and Dad!

Well, THANK YOU so much for all of the support I really enjoyed what you posted on the MM site that was way coool. I love you guys so much, well yes I will email next Tuesday which is completely weird. Basically nothing seems real at this point and I am not ready to come home, I thought I was but to tell the truth I am not, its all good though the life of a missionary is so simple and well yeah its weird, but I am going to miss it so much! Things are going really well we had a really cool experience the other day, Elder Free and I were just kinda wondering where we needed to go, and well so we decided to go to old San Juan, that is not one of our normal places but we went anyway, so we decided to go visit Del Sol, because there are some members that work there, and we went and there was a really cool guy there that works there and he wanted to start taking the discussions so we are going to teach him tomorrow, so how neat is that? So that is way rad. He is super excited! Oh,yeah I bought the suit last week so I will have a nice suit to wear home and so luckily you do not have to buy one of those. I am loving Elder Free we get along really well and its just great. So yes life surely is crazy, I am seriously just enjoying what is left, keeping a smile and not really trying to think about home to much! So that is how things are going here, well yeah I love and miss you so much have a great week and I will see you next week!

Hey Family!
Here things are going really well! I am so surprised at how fast things are passing by, I only have two more weeks if you can belive that, haha don't get to trunky Mom! I am trying really hard to keep focused but to tell the truth it does not really feel like I am really going home, its just not reality to me yet. I assume that it will not sink in until I get home. I am excited to see my new room, I have an idea of some things I want to do, I want to blow up some of the pictures of my mission and make them really big and put them in frames and put them on the wall, whether its scenic photos or other types I don't know its just an idea. Things are really busy here, it helps me keep my mind off of home. Oh, right now we have one baptism date her name is Christina and its for the 16th of August, I know that I am not going to be here for it but I don't really mind I am trying to leave some fruits here so that Elder Free will have something to work with when I am gone. I got your letter the other day thank you so much for that I love getting letters, I will continue to send letters if you do also, because I love letters too! Yes, it is going great here! Hi Family! Sure that sounds great about a dinner card for my last week in the mission. Well of course I would like Ruth Chris...haha would be really cool and then just me and Elder Free will go. If you wanted to just send a master card, and then I could use it that way also. That would be really cool, and then we could have a great last night in Puerto Rico that would be the coolest! So things are going really well the investagtors that we had we are basically dropping all of them because they are not progressing, but its all good that has happened to me so many times so that is nothing really new. Well we really would like to start working with the members and so we are going to start with the less actives and try and find some part member families that we could baptize so that is the goal, but yeah nonetheless things are going really well and I am just loving the last three weeks of my mission if that even seems real, which it does not. Things are well I love it, I am loving Santurce and not much more to really to say, I have not got the package yet, probably today, so I am super excited! Hello!

How are you doing? I am doing great. Oh, I actually read my patriartichal blessing this last Sunday during church it just really makes me feel a little down evertime I read it because there is so much in there that does not seem like me, but then again the Lord knows my capabilities and that I have no doubt. So yeah I am not leaving I will be dying (a term that means they are leaving from the area in which they are serving) here peacefully so that is great, I am loving it here! I don't think that you could guess who is my companion? They are shutting down one of the areas and are combining our areas so I will be staying here with Elder Free so that is really cool, my companion will be going to Dominica so he is pretty excited. I have not gotten the package yet but I should be getting it today because we are going to the mission office. We are staying in our apt so you can send stuff there. I am super excited to be here in Santurce and not have to worry about a crappy companion because I already know who my companion is and it is notgoing to be akward getting to know each other so that is cool. Well it is pretty insane that I am starting my last transfer and my next transfer I will be home so that is a bit strange but we shall see exactly what goes on. We have had a little bit of a strggle finding new people but with the combination of the areas there is plenty of work for us to do, so its pretty cool we shall see how things play out in the long run! I had a great birthday and so things are going just great only 6 more weeks and I will be there at home! I can't wait to spend more time with you and Dad! P.S. How is my car? Hello....
How are you? I hope things are going well. You asked if I had any birthday plans,well they celebrated mine to on Sunday in the ward because there were like three of us and then a member thru us a little party it was really cool to say the least I loved it. I love this ward a bunch, the members are really cool I am enjoying every minute that I have here, next week is transfers allready. I am enjoying my companion to the fullest probably my favorite for sure we get along great have so much fun together. Life is great serisously I love it so much, I can't believe that it is already June and next month I come home pretty cool for sure I am way excited. Things are great I am loving the work,I can't believe at how fast it passes by. I love and miss you guys a ton ! I hope you have a great week, remember that Tuesday is P-Day just so you know. Oh, here is a story for you, the other day we were walking and we were by the beach and there is a bridge and well the puerto ricans are always jumping off of it well, we walked by them and they hit Elder Francis on the head and then jumped into the water and then the others threw some beer at us it was funny, I really wanted to fight them but if there is anything you learn on your mission that is to turn the other cheek haha .Well yeah it happens not to often because people have respect for us, but the young ones are a bit lost.. Hello Mom and Dad!
How are you doing? Well things are going really well! I am kinda jealous that you were in New York...I am really thinking that I would love to go there for New Years eve this year. I am really going to try and work with that because I really want to go and it has been a dream of mine to watch the ball drop and so we shall see its been a plan of mine for probably about 5 years. Some other thoughts that have been coming to my mind because I really want to go and experience the world. But we shall see it is all thoughts up in the air right now. Who really knows what I will be feeling when I get home so we shall see? Things are going really well, at this point Yudelka is now moving to the states and so it is out of our hands. We have a new lady that we are working with her name is Martina she is cool, and so we are really excited to work with her for sure! There has not been nothing to interesting the past week but lots of transvesdites that want to take us to school and its kind of scary but we just laugh.There are lots of bums and many great things that we don't see every day in Arizona. There are lots of cockroaches in our apartment that has been a good one to try to get used too. Oh and yes I would like to take Elder Francis out for my birthday because he is taking me out because his parents sent him $50 to go out to eat and stuff and so I would like to do the same next week. So its crazy my first birthday in the mission hahha.... (Logan was home for knee surgery last year on his birthday) Life sure is great I am loving it here but still I cannot wait to see you guys! Hello Family!
How are you? I am doing great, I had a really good week. Actually at this moment in time I am having no pain in my knee whatsoever and so that is really cool, because I am not using my brace nothing I am so relieved cause I was getting a little bit scared about the thoughts of maybe having to get another surgery. I think that maybe my muscles have been built back up and so its great news,I am so relieved because I can walk around all day and not have any pain what so ever just a little bit of soreness from walking so much. I love walking around all day and then feeling tired, its great! Okay here is a funny story for the week, we were sitting at the church waiting for a investigator to come in and this lady comes running down the street saying "policia policia "and we were like oh great what is going on? She is screaming at the top of her lungs and we are just sitting there and then we see this bum just running so me and my comp look at each other and we are like okay fine, so we take off and start running after him some how I have this like bionic speed thing going on becasue I am running next to Elder Francis and we are chasing this guy, well we get around the corner and then he runs into the street and well as you wouldn't guess there is this guy that comes out of nowhere and punches the guy in the head and drops him right there in the middle of traffic it was really funny. Oh and then there was a member from Utah that was sitting right there looking for the church so that was the highlight of our week. Yudelka is doing really good, we had a really good talk with her yesterday adn she is going to prepare to bebaptized on the 7th of June which is great, I am pretty excited for that she is super pumped though and is actually firm on that day. I am asking permission there is this new nixon watch it iscalled the player but it is the rubber green one you should look it up and see if it is not totally Logan? I am thinking if it would be okay with you to take like$100 off of my card and get it, its really cool though I would understand ifyou say no I can just wait and well, I will get the watch eventually. I sent home a puerto rican flag for you to hang in my room and another memory card so you can be expecting that in the mail very soon. Oh in the package that you are going to send me, I want some cookie mixes and some butterscoth chips. I made the cookies the other day and they were so good! When I was in Truijllo Alto we did not have a oven. Well Mom and Dad, I love you guys and I hope that you have a great week!

Hello Mom and Dad!
How are you? It was nice talking to you on Mother's Day! Not much new since then. Oh yeah I was pretending to call you and then he picked up the phone and called you, it was really funny he is cool he is from Argentina a really cool guy, he is my DL. I am in a district with 2 Elders that have six months left and another that has 2 months left so that is a it weird, but cool. I just try to share as much knowledge as I can so that they can be better missionaries. I can't believe that time is flying by. I am loving my mission at this point and I am a little sad that it took so long to really love it, but you can't ever take back the past, you can only look into the future and make it better, something that I have learned. It is just weird to think that I will really be home because it is just not a reality to me as of yet, but its all good though. I am just trying to make the best of all of the situations that I might be faced with. I love it here and I really hope and wish you have the greatest week ever too. I love you!

Hello!
So things seem that they are going really well at home. At this point in the mission I am not a DL anymore, thank goodness not upset about that. I am not a moving elder either, I am just straight up senior companion and loving it! I can't believe that I only have 1 more transfer after this, its way cool though, I am so excited. We are working with lots of people we have found tons of new people but I am not going to tell you about them until they really start progressing because its like that one minute there hot and the next they are completely cold. Things are going really well we have a lady named Yudelk who has a baptismal date for the 23rd of May, she is way rad she is going thru a divorce so things right now are a little rough for her, but she is rocking it like no other, she is coming to church she can only come for sacrament because she has a contract to help at a orphanage and so there is no way she can get out of that. She has so much potential and is just willing to do everything that we give her. We are going to old San Juan today it is in our area so we can go there when ever we would like. I am just loving it though to tell the truth, life is greatI was a little crushed to leave Trujillo Alto but now I am so glad ,its given me the chance to really put myself out there and get to know alot more people. I was just way to comfortable over there its great though I love it! Yes, I would love some pics from Colorado, I can't believe that calls are already here again! I cannot wait to talk to everyone. I am in love with my area, I probably have the coolest companion in the whole wide world Elder Francis he rocks!We are just loving it and having a good time. How are you? Yep, I got transfered. I am in Santurce, it is a pretty cool, big city and defininetly going to be a different experience. My companions name is Elder Francis, he is from Orem, UT he seems like a pretty cool cat...he has 3 transfers in the mission. I am in the peraira district. There is a greenie from Mesa here, his name is Elder Jake Free. That is rad to have another Arizonan in the mission! Turns out that I am in a pretty fresh district, I am one of the oldest ones out here now. So really nothing new, just packing and moving to my 8th area, but what can you do, that is life. Hello Family!

Wow, time is flying by so fast here for sure! I cannot believe that you have gotten my intinerary allready? I bet time is slower for parents than it is for us in the mission field. I still cannot believe that I was home like 9 months ago, and yes I agree it kind of seems like a dream. I am going to answer your questions today. I wasn't the one that gave Johnny Depp the pass along card, it was a group effort. The mission BBQ was pretty rad, there wasn't alot of our group that came out together, as alot of them are on the islands, so that was a bit of a bummer. But we are all looking forward to being together the night before we go home in July. I don't think it will seem real that I am going home until I am at home. Elder Ancieta hasn't said that he feels any different and I don't really feel any difference yet, I am just working hard. I just sent my memory card home and some letters for you and Dad. We don't have any investigators right now, we are just focusing on members because Elder Ancieta is leaving and we are just enjoying their company. We do have a prospect his name is Efrain, he is way rad we are working with him to come to church. Transfers are next week, I am hoping to stay in this area, with Elder Ancieta leaving it sure seems like it is possible. I am thinking I will be a DL, and hoping to finish my mission in this area. I would for sure love it. We have been having FHE with the older single people that don't have families and been having about 15 people coming every week, so that is way cool. I actually got a watch from a member the other day, she is going out of town and wanted me to give me a going away present incase I got transfered. So sweet, huh? I am really loving this ward, and working with them. Our P-Day will be Tuesday, I imagine I will be running around because my companion will be new and I have no idea what will really be happening. It has gotten hot here too, or it could be because the van broke down and we are walking everywhere? I have really stepped up my diet... I am hoping to really lose some weight before I step off the plane.... Oh, could you send me a memory card? I don't want to miss any memories. I love and miss you so much. Thanks for everything.

Johhny Depp is filming the movie "The Rum Diary"that is due to hit theatres in 2010. The filming is taking place in Old San Juan, and Logan was there on P-Day, and had a goal of seeing Johnny Depp, and giving him a pass along card. Mission accomplished! (Logan said he would send a picture home, with the pass along card in Johnny's hand....) He handed it to him, thru his car window. Way to preach the gospel Elder Wells!

Hello Family!
We are going to old San Juan today, so I really don't have much time to email so its going to be short. Things are going well here, we are always working really hard. Cidmarie's baptism went really well. Her boyfriend is a member. Well I am super excited I really can't believe that it is already general conference and my last one in the mission. Oh and there is only one more phone call. I love Ancieta we get along really well, he is done at the end of this transfer so that is super crazy a little bit upsetting but it is all good. I really love the guys in my district, they are doing well we are all just learning from each other. I am just trying to help them do the things that I had not done in the beginning of my mision and it is working well . I love the work! I am super excited we have our big BBQ for the mission next week and that is going to be cool, I cannot believe its already been a year since all of that happened. So crazy! So how is my car coming along? I would like to see a picture of how it is looking. Well I was wondering if you can make sure that my interior is finished also before I get home? How are you? Oh, I got my release date it is the 23rd of July so you can pencil that in, I got the paper last wednesday its pretty cool. Things are working out farely well I am so excited about everything we have had such a hectic week I wrote you a letter I just have to send it, it is sitting in our van. I am super excited to be with Elder Ancieta he is way cool, we have a baptism this Saturday her name is Sidmarie and she is way prepared and ready for baptism. So things are working out here. The work here is going really well I am super excited I love my District we have lots of fun and they work really hard. Our trip to old San Juan was alright, I took lots of pictures and you will be recieving them soon. I just have to space them out, when I send them home. Things are just working out I love the work, things are great! I have been thinking about how things will be when I get home. Oh, and another scary thought is that my bday is coming up so soon, in like two months I am going to be 21? I am super excited life is great and I hope and wish you the best week ever. Hi Family!
Yes, it was definitely a bit weird that President Guldbrandsen showed up in the Ward on Sunday. I was definitely a little shocked but it was pretty cool so awesome to just see a recoginazable face! (Pres. Guldbrandsen, was the one that set Logan apart as a missionary in July 2007, he just happened to be on a cruise, and randomly picked a Ward to attend, and it happened to be the Ward Logan was attending. Our Stake has since divided.)really just strange, so cool though! Oh yes, I did recieve the letter and photos of Dad. Tell him to shave his mustache too!!!!!!! That would be so rad! Things are going really well here I am staying with Elder Ancieta that means that I get to kill him! I am excited about that for sure, we have had some great times and get along very good! We have had to do a bunch of airport stuff, we got to go to a meeting that President told us everyhting pretty awesome I sure enjoyed that, its really cool to just experience what goes on inside the closed doors. Truillo Alto is closing down so that means that the two of the Elders are leaving and my district will only be four, which I really don't mind we have to do call in every day and so that means one less to call. So we have to move and clean our apartment we will be going to the other apartment of the other Elders. They are going to shut ours down so that means lots of cleaning and so fun fun, not really... Oh, Elder Stevens came back from Barbados, he is back and we picked him up from the airport this morning and so that means that he will be with us all day so that should be interesting to say the least. We are doing really well we are going to be picking up some of the investigators of the other missionaries and so we shall see where that goes? Things are going really well I am loving the work here and definitely hoping to die in this area. Can you believe the date again tomorow its twenty months, where is the time going? It is nearly time to have general conference again seriously how crazy! Oh yeah then its May and we call home again and that means the last call and the last general conference... That is way sweet! I am super excited that Colten is gonna hit a year that is super exciting for him! I am loving every minute of this work! I hope that you have a great week!

Well yeah things are really great here! Oh and yeah P-Day is next Tuesday, due to transfers. We did have our baptisms last Sunday it was way awesome. We completed a family by all of them being members, so that was way sweet! So I was super excited about that, they are going to be confirmed this Sunday. No, we don't get to confirm people that often at least not here where people can do it, so that is where that stands. I am loving it here in Trullio Alto, I am doing well here and there are so many blesisings that we are seeing. Wow, time is flying by so fast I truly can't belive that it is already P-Day again. We are really working with lots of people right now we are working with a husband of another member so that is really cool his name is Efrain and so we are going to give him a date for the 29th of March for baptism this week. So I am really hoping to kill (a term when you are with a companion that is going home)Ancieta he is on his last transfer. So that is really sweet. President Dewsnup is really cool and its definately been neat getting to know him a little better. I am sorry that you had to do jury duty, and sad that you didn't get to go to Sedona with Cyndi, but what can you do? Be sure and tell me what the case was about if you can. How are you doing? I hope things are going well for you all. Well yeah its weird that I am going to be twenty one,that means that you guys are getting old... I just love reminding you of that, hahaha! I am so glad to hear that my car is getting fixed. So today we are going to old San Juan after this email, pretty exciting I really just can't believe that I haven't ever been there yet. So things are going well Natalia is getting baptized on Sunday along with a guy named Hiram, cool story with him he is super cool, his wife is a member recently activated about 6 months ago her husband Hiram is way cool he has been taught a numerous of times he has had problems with coffee and alchohol and his son is getting baptized on Sunday and we invited him to get baptized with his son and he accepted pretty awesome considering this was just last Saturday and so he has not drank in like 6 months and like dropped coffeee before we asked him because he knew that he had to do it. He is super prepared and is one of those guys that you try and try to get baptized but never works until they are finally ready. He is super prepareed and I am way excited! Natalia is doing great she should get baptized as well. Where did you send my package? Things are going really well. Hi Mom and Dad!
Yes, it sure is really great to be here! I am in Truillo Alto the same place that I was in a year ago, meaning the same district and same ward, just a different area. Its great to be here I love it the experiences are really good, seriously I can't believe at how fast the time is passing by! The Lord is seriously helping me out so much! Things are great I love it, so my companion does not speak english and so yes it is spanish all of the time. I don't mind, it really keeps me on the top of my game! This past week has been really good I am finding lots of new people and cannot believe how things work out, the Lord is always there for us! We have had to take President to the airport a few times so that was way cool to get to know him a little bit more. It has been really cool finding out what he was like before the mission and what he did for fun. I just love it here, I don't really have much to say, Oh the other day we were doing service and we were cleaning and chopping down all the weeds that have taken over this Sister's house and so we lifted this board up and underneath was a crab, a huge spider, a ginormous centipede and a bunch of coqui frogs prettty cool! We are really just trying to get the members here to trust us a little more. So things are really starting to look up. Well I love you and miss you so much! Peace, Logan

Hi Mom and Dad,

Well I have only been here for a couple of weeks so not much has happened. The only thing that we have done is gone and take President to the airport and move a couple of apartments. We are keeping busy and the work is going forward. I don't have any Elders in my District with the same time as me in the mission, just a bunch of newbies that have like 3 to 8 months in the mission so that is cool. I have had to really step up my game and be a good example so that is what is going on, pretty sweet though. well yeah I love it. Yesterday I got to have our zone conferrence and got to see alot of the other buddys from the misison so that was way cool. I am not in Randy and Lillian's (they are our cousins that live in Puerto Rico) area they are actually in Elder Polanco's area. I loved seeing him yesterday he is going ot move to the states with his Mom so that is way exciting Ilove that guy and so I will definately have to keep in touch with him. I love it right now things are really working out. I can't believe how fast time is flying bye it never slows down and only gets faster. Elder Ancieta is from Boliva and is way cool he actually just extended his mission so he is going to be here for just a little bit longer so that is way cool. I am loving every minute left of the mission, its going fast and I can't believe it. I love and miss you guys so much. I hope you have a great week! Love, Logan

Hi Mom and Dad!

I am loving it here! Some of my duties as DL is I have to plan the normal district meeting and have to do call ins to the other missionaries in the district every night so that means lots of talking on the phone and no going to bed before 9:30 pm I guess it is not to bad. I really don't mind to tell the truth. I do miss being a normal missionary. I am working hard for sure! Oh and Sherman did get the shirt. If you want just send stuff to the office for now we usually go there at least once a week so not really that big of deal. Things are going great we set a baptsimal date this week with a young lady named Natalia, she is 12 years old. The less active work is really where it is at we have only like a 16 percent activity rate here and so that means that out of all of the families there are tons that are part member families so that is what I am really going to start focusing on, there are over like 300 inactives in our area alone not including all of the other areas. It is gonna get really busy these next transfers because our mission is getting reduced and so that is gonna be the hard part. So lots of moving is gonna start taking place.The driving is easy enough the first day was a little rough but there is so much traffic here and no time to really mess up becasue you just go with the flow. Oh and another duty is that I will have to do the baptismal interviews for the people that get baptized so that is cool, kind of scary but I am way willing to do it, it is just the whole spanish thing I really hope that I can get it all down, I know with the help of my heavenly father there will be no worries. Elder ****** is a good missionary a little bit crazy he has lots of pride and definately has a latin attitude, its cool though he goes home in April so no biggy. That is so cool to hear how good everyone is doing in the ward pretty sweet that Chase will get to see Jordan awesome. I miss Tristan so much and can't really believe how fast time is flying, seriously it will be here before we know it, and I will be on my flight . I do not have much time so its work work work and more work for me, its really great to be part of the work and I love it! It is going good here, I hope that next transfer they move me back down to normal missionary I don't like being a leader, ha ha. All is well! I love you and wish the best for your week! Yep I am going back to Puerto Rico, and it is totally rad! This week has been one of the greatest of my whole mission! Let me tell you about transfers, first well I am going back to Puerto Rico, I am going to be a District Leader in the Trullio Alto district and I am going to be the moving Elder, ha ha well so that is not all that is interesting. My companions name is Elder Ancieta he is really cool he will finish his mission I think at the end of next transfer so that should be interesting. So as you know Latins cannot drive in Puerto Rico and so that means that I am going back and driving and I have to basically know the whole entire island which is crazy. I will be the one running President to the airport and picking and moving things all over the island. So I am back driving in Puerto Rico and that means the other side of the road. It is going to be pretty weird adjusting again, after driving British style for almost 6 months. The cool thing is that Rio Piedras is in my district and so I will be able to see all of the converts I have so that is way awesome I am so excited. I am a bit bummed because I am leaving,but that is where the Lord wants me to go. My plane will leave at like 12:30 tomorrow, so yep back to Puerto Rico I go. Well my last week here we saw so much success, I really decided to change myself a little bit because it was definately time, so President wants us extending baptismal dates on the first lesson, so me and Elder Evans took that challenge and seen the fruits that the Lord wants it was way cool! In three days we set 9 dates and so that was way cool. I really just began to change my attitude and the Lord did the rest. I just began to put it upon the lord and say let me be an instrument in your hands and so that is how it all began. I really have been praying non stop in sincere fashion. I looked at all of the book of mormon missionaries and the reason why they were so succesful was because of the attitudes that they had. I am super excited and bummed at the same time, that I am leaving but at the same time stoked because I really don't mind a little change every once in a while. I have literally felt the saviors love in me and also the love that he has for his children here on this island. I know that he trusted me to really do his work and it boggles my mind, but I am trying to remember that the lords will is to build his kingdom upon the earth and it will grow! The missionaries have to change there minds a little and work towards that goal. Well I love you so much and have a great week! Love you! Always, Logan

Hello Mom and Dad!

Well transfers are next week again which in it self are pretty crazy, meaning that its only four more you have no idea at how much that is really begining to scare me I can promise you that the whole trunkiness has been settled and that I am totally over it! We had a really good conference last Thursday there was a lot of things that I was not doing, they were things I could change so that I could be better and recieve more blessing. The Conference was just on things that we do as missionaires that are called paradigms they are the things that we do that we just do because we don't really know why, just because we were taught that way and so for me I am definitely trying to get out of that one.They really hit a lot of good points and its definately time to pick it up so that is what we are doing. President talked to me and he said that I can do it and he really haelped me I am really realizing those things that I really want for the mission, I have found such a great desire to work and really push forward and do the right things. It has been great we have found some really cool investigators that are way sweet, well the Francis's are back they were the senior couple before the Solomons, and they have been giving us reference after reference with people that they workedwith. Believe me its really starting to pay off so that is cool we have picked up quite a few. Another coool thing this last week was a caribbean conference that was being broadcasted from Jamaica and so we were able to see President Eyering and Elder Bednar and they spoke to us from there it was way awesome. They said so many things that these people really needed to hear. It is really going good, I love the area, I think i might get transferred but I am really hoping not, truthfuly! Hello!
Things are going great here! We are just working alot with less actives and feel that we are definately getting somewhere. I did recieve the cruise stuff on like the 16th some things are fast and other things are real slow. I still have not recieved the shirt for Sherman and I am thinking that it might have gotten stolen, hopefully not, well that is not good. We are working really hard with ***** and he is coming around really fast! I have started a cook book and it has all the cool things in it, its a book I bought here in Tortola. Yes, the senior couple always goes with us to St. Thomas, they are way cool! We go this Friday to St. Thomas, we don't really have much time to see the island because we go to the conference and then catch the 4:00 ferry and so the time goes by too fast. Oh, the whitestrips have worked miracles to say the least I am loving my new smile. Well S**** and M**** are also coming around we are really trying to get them baptized! We are supposed to hear from J***** today to really see if he is ready to get baptized. We are hoping, he should be home. The senior couple before the Solomons are on the island and so we are going to dig them for people that they might have worked with so that we can get some referals and so that should be cool. I love you so much and I can't believe that we are already this far into the transfer again. Eder Osterloh is going home in a couple of weeks, I think that he is getting excited I can only imnagine how is Mother is feeling. Only four more transfers for me. That is pretty crazy. As far as school I am excited just make sure that I get a good schedule and don't sign me up for any classes that I wouldn't want. I love the mission and the people! Well peace!

Hello!
I am doing really well! I hope that you got the newspaper that I sent home if not,you should get it soon, it is called the Island Sun. I did recieve the package, thank you so much! I loved everything, I wrote you a letter and sent it yesterday. I think who knows well I sent my love and appreciation for the whole thing. I am doing fine with packages and letters so it is all good. I think they will probably close Virgin Gorda and missionaries will just go over like two days a week, that was how it used to be, but only the Lord knows at this point. Transfers are the 4th of February. Are you thinking that you would like to come and pick me up? I really would like to just come back later because then I can go to the beaches and do more visiting the islands and stuff. If you came to pick me up we would be so limited on what we can do. Our less actives are doing really well we are back up to the fifites in attendance. Driving is fine its not a problem at all it was never that uncomfortable its actually pretty fun, its gonna be weird switching back to driving normal. Our next trip to St. Thomas is next Friday, which is cool I guess.
Johnny is now in Santo Domingo trying to get his papers from his divorce so that he can marry the woman that he is now with, and so that is the news on that one. Manuel is back and we are really trying to work hard with him and bring him back up to speed he is doing great he is just scared to make that step of baptism, but I know when he does he is going to be really strong. I am so glad that you enjoyed your cruise. It was weird to think that you were on one we see them every day now, It is nice when we get to see the occasional member which is awesome. I am glad you got to see the missionaries when you were on Catalina Island. Well my week has been absolutely amazing we are really doing good! We are learning how to cook, the members are each teaching us how to make something different, I have learned macaroni pie, curry, johnny cakes, and chowmein,I am definately gonna have to cook for you all when I get home my recipe book is looking really good. Hi Mom and Dad!
My week was really good to tell the truth we are just trying to get thru this month because it is definately a hard one with everyone being on work permits it is all about working for everyone here and with it being the big cruise period everyone is just working 24/7. It is kinda of lame but I have no doubt that it will pick up in the new year that means 2009! Oh and that also means I come home during that year pretty exciting, I am thrilled to tell the truth! So things are a little slow here, there are alot of people on vacation so that has slowed us down. Okay so you sent me my package I am super excited because I have not gotten much lately. I really need to send you a letter sorry that they have slowed down a little but to tell the truth I have not wrote much lately.Yes my companion is also staying. It is still a little weird to me to think that Granpa is gone, there is nothing really that sticks to me that says he is gone, you know its just weird. Its all good though, I have felt the saviors love and know that he is in a happier and better place with alot more people that love him. Wow so Lorin and Justin are pregnant? I figured that it was coming. Why did they wait so long to tell anybody? I am so glad that Morgan is keeping his head up on wanting to go on a mission seriously he wont regret it. So pretty much jealous that you are going to a steak dinner for New Years. We are definately not doing anything like that we get P-Day and have to be in by six so we get the whole day off pretty cool. Oh and yeah so I am totally jealous that you get to go on a cruise because I see them everyday and never get to get on one. Ha, I hope that you have so much fun! Well, Thank-you so much for the letter. I am so glad that you had fun when you visited Colorado. I am really am glad to hear that Stacey is doing so well, I love it when you talk about them. Did she say if she has sent me a letter? Because she totally owes me one. I am loving it so much here the lord is definetly blessing me! I sent letters home so you should get them in a few days. I will be getting the package today so there are no problems. . We already have three dinner appts for christmas so that is amazing. We had an 62 people in church on Sunday that was a record for Tortola, the work is growing so much here and like you said I am so glad to be a part of it. Well i cant believe that we are already in the 4th week of the transfer its crazy I am getting scared of getting transferred because I totally don't want that to happen, our transfers are on the 23rd so P-day is monday the 22nd just so you know. It is crazy to think at how fast time is going. Well Sonette will not be baptized this Sunday she is the sister of Rose and Esther. Manuel is not related to them. Rose and Esther are from Haiti and are way cool. Well I was wondering how the christmas season is going for you guys? I imagine that it has to be a little weird with most all of us gone, its not the greatest for us either but just think that I will be there next christmas so no worries. I am glad that my car might be getting into the shop. Well we are working really hard we are seeing so much success in theBranch, we also had another family of 5 out to church this past week. Mom and Dad and the rest of the world.

I hope things are going well back home. I really did enjoy the baptism I am going to send the memory card home next week with the package that I am sending for Christmas, there is stuff in there for the whole family along with the memory card. I know that you will enjoy those pictures because there are tons of them, I think at least like three hundred. Rose's baptsim was so good the spirit was strong and I almost got to go swimming, funny story I will definitely write that in the letter home! Thanksgiving was not much because they do not celebrate it so that is kind of lame. We have like two dinner appointments for Christmas so that is awesome. I have not gotten the package ,you might want to track and see where it is if you can. I am getting a little anxious because you did sent it like 2 weeks ago if not more? The slip hasn't even came in yet. Things are doing really well here, Manuel has not been baptized we are going to give him a little more time because he needs it but he is coming to church every Sunday, so that is great that his testimony is growing. Sonnette who is Roses's sister and Esther's sister has a date for the 14th of december so that is pretty cool . Things are picking up here, we are working with alot of less actives right now we had a total of 11 at church this last week so that was definately a blessing. President said that if you can activate a less active that is equivalent to baptizing a person so that makes me feel really well! We only have a total of 63 members on the island of Tortola and so for us to have 54 in church is close to a miracle! This comes from the Lord,he sure has his hand in the work and it is absoluetly awesome to be part of it. We are really working for a building out here we have to have an average of like 50 people in church for like 3 to 6 months and so we are on the track! It has picked up in the last month and so we are working for that every single day that we are out here. Well I love you so much the lord has blessed you and me and will continue as long as we are doing what we need to be doing. Well in the christams package can I get some more garments? A few weeks ago someone left a pen in my washer and so alot of my whites were blue and I had to throw away some. Hope all is well and the time is passing by so fast, only seven and a half more to go. yo what up family?
Well this week is pretty crazy. I actually talked to President and he said that my date is still scheduled for the 18th of July, so that is way sweet I am super excited, only 8 more months. Time is flying by so fast! We are actually gonna go out to dinner with the Solomon's on Thanksgiving because they are gonna go to a restraunt that does a Thanksgiving dinner and they have pie and everything, I am so excited for all of these holidays to be over because I just miss everyone around this time of year and it is suppose to be the best and it is the worst. The package has not come yet, I was getting really excited. I did get your card thanks so much. I enjoy getting the pictures I really enjoy them. Well the week has flown by so fast. Elder Evans and I are doing good, I really am grateful to be his companion. Things here are really picking up in the work, we have scheduled a baptsim for Rose this Saturday, that is gonna be awesome she asked me if I could do that, so I will be baptizing her, totally cool, but we are working so hard right now we had five investigators in church and five less actives that is way awesome, we had a total of 53 people in church I don't think there has been that much ever. We are helping so many people to prepare for baptism and so we should have a couple more by next week. The members are being so great we are getting fed plenty and I am definately getting fatter like always. But it is getting to the point where I am definately ready to do something about it. I am loving Tortola. The Elders from St.Thomas are coming over tommorow to do the baptsimal interview so I just can't get away from Elder Dixon hahah its all good it is always nice to see them every once in a while. I am loving the work, we are literally working everyday all the time and its flying by so fast to think that we are already in the second week of the transfer. It just boggles my mind some say that the last six months just flys well if it flys by that fast I will be home tommorow hahah. Well I love you guys so much. Logan

Hello Mother and Father!
Yes I have slacked last week in writing a letter but I will get one in the mail this week. It is crazy to think that I am here for another 6 weeks. I am definitely excited, for sure. Elder Evans is way cool he is from Utah, we have the same time out in the mission its pretty cool because we both kind of slacked in the begining of our missions and now we have a strong desire to work and so we are goimg to work miracles here. I will be watching for the package. I hope the cookies stay good they are always so good. Right now we are teaching alot of people that are progressing. We are still teaching Manuel and we are teaching Rose she wants to be baptized on the 29th of November we also have the 29th for S**** and M****. We are still working with them we are going to see where they stand. I took pics of Esther's baptism, you know who I am, I am your child. We actually got to have a Thanksgiving dinner with the Kalamas and they made us punkin pie and turkey and stuffing and it was delicous! They are going to be out of town,for Thanksgiving so their kids made them make it early and so they invited us over to eat. it was so good. Sounds like you are having so much fun that is good thatyou got the horse, so Dad has started fixing cars, how about mine? I think I am going to sell it now, if you can get it sold before I get home that would be so awesome. Hi Mom and Dad!

Yeah, I heard about the new president situation. We shall see what the future has to offer, it’s scary but thank goodness for the gospel, truthfully I love it. You asked about Rose and Esther, they are super awesome they are cousins to Shirley the girl I baptized in May, well they are coming along really well they are both from Haiti and are super awesome we have been teaching them for a couple of months so that is super cool. I am glad that you enjoyed the letters. I am trying to write every week, I got your card yesterday it’s late for Halloween but oh well I enjoyed it none the less. My week was actually really good, Elder Dixon is going to leave almost certain of that I will get a new companion but who that is I have not the slightest idea, hopefully someone younger because I have worked with no one but missionaries that have the same time as me. That is so awesome that you have been getting the time with Tristan its crazy to look at them and see how much they have grown in a year and a half, almost hahaha well I am getting excited. I really am excited for some change but at the same time I am going to miss Elder Dixon so much truthfully he is a great person and has taught me a lot about the scriptures and how to understand them he is a genius in that subject, we are still teaching our English class to all of the Dominicans and Spanish to all the gringos it has been pretty cool because it has helped me so much in my Spanish and really understanding the language for sure been a true blessing. Mom and Dad I am seriously loving it here we had our interviews and so I am scared that I will leave next transfer, I want at least four transfers here seriously, but it is out of my hands so what else can you do. I really love it here! I really enjoy it here though we get surprises often, President Kalama came over the other day and brought us pizza so that was really nice and the Solomon’s took us and the Virgin Gorda Elders out to lunch so that was cool. I love it so much here I have been blessed. But all is well and I will write you Tuesday. Love, Logan

Hi Mom and Dad!
I am glad that you got the postcard. I sent one to Grandma and Grandpa so
hopefully they get it. I cannot believe that Halloween is on Friday we were suppose to have a Halloween party but we are being commanded to be in the house at 6 pm. So that means we cant go that is kind of sad because we were planning all of the activities, a little lame, oh well that means that I can just have a good nap and sleep! I don’t know if I told you but President asked us to read the book of Mormon for the month of October and I finished it last Sunday, it was so awesome its just great to be able to read it in such a short time because you seem to get so much out of it and I loved it,especially just all of the warning that is gives us, you know I was thinking a lot about one thing that it said I believe that Mormon said it or Moroni I am not really sure but he was talking about the church in the last days and that you are going to see a lot of people that will wear costly apparel and will set there things on the things of the world. It just said that his warning was like a warning from the dust of the earth because he is already dead so that was really cool. It really got me thinking about how vain I have been.
There have been so many things that I just figured that I had to have and
I just went out and got them it just makes me think about truly what is
important in life and why do we have to be so prideful? I have really tried
to change my life around a little and put those things first and well its
just since reading the book of Mormon so fast have seen a change in the
way that I look at life, its truly amazing. I am trying to pick up on French,
I am just working a lot on pronunciations so that I can start reading because
if you can read then you will be able to talk faster and learn faster so
that is what I am focusing on, its been great for sure. Virgin Gorda was
good its been fun I don’t like it that much because its just so small and if
I never go back there to work I would be perfectly fine its just weird when
it takes you fifteen minutes to walk the area that they can work. Rose and
Esther are coming along really well its been really fun seeing them grow, and actually start to have tat desire to be baptized well as you would know we actually had our zone conference yesterday so we got the chance to go over to St. Thomas and it was really great, President and I talked a lot, he is a great guy he said that I have a great attitude and so that was nice to hear!
Elder Dixon will more than likely be leaving he is ready to go its
just a matter of time two more weeks I guess hahaha. So did you decide if you were going to get a horse? I absolutely love the photos that you send to me! I put them in my scriptures so that I can always have them handy to show people. I love you guys so much. Actually people seem to say that you and your Dad are pretty different because they say that I am a little city boy and its funny to think that I have a Dad like that, its just not what they expected and then I tell them I have killed my fair share of animals and they laugh at me and think that I am not serious. It is so funny! I also have decided that I will just keep my car, so please get it nice and fixed up maybe even finish the interior for me that would be the greatest, I wanted a nice car but I decided there is just no point of getting a new one that would just be selfish, so maybe you could get me some nice big rims and just get it really fixed up before I get home that would be the best thing everrrrrrrererererererererrrrrrr. Things are great here I am loving it! We have started a English class and we are seeing lots of success I am teaching people Spanish and Elder Dixon is teaching English so that is cool, but other than that nothing much more. Love You! He survived the hurricane and tremors...

Hi Mom and Dad

Life is great here in Tortola. I love it more and more everyday. The hurricane was nothing, just lots of rain and wind. Sorry for the no email last week, with the hurricane the electricity was out for most of the day. Oh, I woke up to my bed shaking...I thought I was dreaming, Elder Dixon woke up too. It was a tremor. I am loving these cool experiences here. Elder Dixon and I are waiting for the boat, we are going to Virgin Gorda for the day. I am excited. That puts me up to 5 islands, Puerto Rico, Vieques, Tortola, St. Thomas, and Virgin Gorda, so sweet. We had a really good day at Church on Sunday. We had 42 people show up, which is incredibly awesome, because a year ago, it was like 15. The Lord has blessed this place so much. I just have to work a little harder to keep the pace that it is growing. It is insane, because before no one ever baptized in the Bristish Virgin Islands, it is truly amazing. The Lord loves his people, that is a bit of a understatement, I don't think we really understand how much. I know how much I love my family, and know that he loves us that much and more. How cool is that? We had our investigators Sheldon, Rob and Esther at church. They are coming along, and should be baptized this next month. It is amazing how much love for us the branch members have, Sherman our branch mission leader gave me a shirt from Guyanna, his wife Babeenie had made it for him. It is sad that almost everyone on this island has left their family to come to work here. They work for $4-5 dollars a hour. They are all just trying to make it better for their families and to better themselves. I more than likely will be here for the next 2 transfers, so that will take thru Christmas. I am a bit sad to not be in Puerto Rico, I loved the holidays there, and all the festivaties. Wow, can you believe this will be my last Christmas in the field? I am afraid July will be here before we know it. I love the gospel, and the opportunity to serve! Thanks for everything you do. I love you so much.

In a short email from Logan yesterday (Oct. 15th,) They were boarding up the house, had a 3 day supply of food, lots of water, and under hurricane warning to stay inside! Well things are doing well here. I will go through and answer all of the questions that you have well to begin I am doing really well, Its okay that you are getting old because that means I am to ha-ha. I have not gotten the package with the iPod charger yet but that is okay no big deal. I will get it today I believe because I have received the slip so it will be here today or tomorrow’s mail. I am getting letters from home now thank goodness, I was felling a little neglected ha-ha no its all good no worries. Thank you so much for the French stuff I am so excited because I really want to learn this language. The branch president’s wife speaks French so I will have to practice with her. I absolutely loved General Conference, Saturday morning and afternoon were my favorite, I laughed when President Monson talked about the empty house situation and I felt how you must feel honestly, I love conference though I basically got to watch everything except priesthood which is unfortunate because I always love priesthood session. (I am at the library and there is a bearded lady next to me its really kind of weird.) So you are going to the dentist? It will be nice to finally have all your dental work done! I really can’t believe that Halloween is already here that means then Thanksgiving and then Christmas then I can call home and that will be way awesome! That is sad to hear about Grandpa’s horse Daisy. How old was she? How often was he really riding her? So Eddie (the guinea pig) is also dead that is just way sad but that means no more pigs for you, thank goodness I am sorry I have never been to fond of those things.
Well as for a spiritual story I really don’t know what to say to tell the truth because I have not really had one lately but I have felt the saviors love for me because I have had a tuff week but the Lord always knows our problems and our weaknesses and it comforts me to know that I have a Savior that knows me and cares for me and listens to my prayers. Sometimes it gets kind of lonely out here and well you begin to wander why about a lot of things but you have to put trust in the Lord so that he can help you and well he has, its just amazing. I love it the gospel, it is so true! Dave is not progressing like I would like but we continue praying for him and he will come along. My driving skills are absolutely amazing and its been fun the instincts are beginning to switch if that is a good or bad thing I am not really sure but its all good. I will get you a picture of me and Elder Dixon very soon okay, I have to take one first .Well things are going really well I am so excited to be here. I love and miss you guys so much! I know the lord wants me here and that I have no doubt about that. I have little over nine months left and well that is nothing compared to the eternity.

Hi Mom and Dad!
I really can’t believe that tomorrow is October, that is a great thing for sure. Time is flying by so fast I can’t really believe it. I really don’t mind too much to tell the truth. We did find out that Elder Dixon will be staying another transfer which means that he will have over 8 months by next transfer it has to be rough on the guy he has had 2 areas his whole mission 4 transfers in Arroyo and 6 here which is crazy because I am in my sixth area, ha-ha. Elder Dixon is now fine he just had a really bad cold. Our zone conference was great and for like the tenth time we took a boat to St. Thomas. I don’t think I will have to pay duty on mail if they are in a padded envelope I hope not. I also wanted to ask for a French dictionary and a learning guide on, How to learn French because I am determined to learn that language and I know that I can, there are some French people here and I would love to try and speak to them, and so that is my new task. So Grandpa is doing better he had a pace maker put in? I bet he whole time he was probably saying just let me die, no he has to be there when I get home he does not have a choice! Our investigators are coming along. Diana’s father Dave did not get baptized but he is getting there I don’t think that they are going to be baptized the 10th because they have only came to church once and so we are trying to work with them and they have to get to church first but once you can get them to church they never stop coming so its getting over that first little hump. I am so glad to hear that the kids are doing good tell them I love them because I miss them so much we will have to plan a little trip to Colorado when I get home, so that I can see all of them. Hi Mom and Dad!

How are you doing? I am doing great its awesome to hear that you are having such a good time in Colorado. Is it really pretty there? While your there try to find me a patch, I want to start putting them on my back pack. Yes that is Sister Solomon in the picture on the beach, she is from Arizona. Elder Solomon was taking the picture. This past week has been a little rough because my companion has been sick, so we have not had the chance to work much. It has been a bit difficult, but its all good. The family that we are teaching is doing great we are looking forward to giving them all baptismal dates tomorrow. Esther and Rose they are part of that family they have baptismal dates for the 10 of October. We are also going to give a baptismal date to Manuel tonight so that should be cool we are seeing so much success, the Lord is blessing us so much and the answers to prayers are definitely being answered. I need you to send me an iPod charger, I bought one here for 25 dollars but it broke so I won’t do that again it just stopped working kind of makes me mad but there is not much you can do about that. I love it here so much! Next weeks is transfers which I can’t believe are here again. So P-Day will be on Tuesday, just so you know. Well everything is great here, and I see so many blessing! Hi Mom and Dad!

How are things with you? Well you asked about driving? Yes, they do drive on the other side of the road it is a little bit crazy. I was just thinking of telling you that because they have me driving one day a week so that when my comp leaves I will be able to do it. ha-ha its not that bad its just a little weird. I have not messed up yet but my Companion comes around the corners sometimes and forgets and almost hits cars straight on, He is a little cocky so he tries to show off a little bit you know how them Texans are, He is cool though. I did sent some pics home so you should get those I have not received a letter yet. The package didn’t come in and it turns out there really not a problem to get, I asked the Senior couple and they said that its never a problem it just takes a long time. I have not received anything since I have been out here just a package from Alexa that was given to me when the Zone Leaders came over, they were in Puerto Rico so they bring stuff over. I have not even received the newsletter for the month of September, so I don’t know. Time is flying by so fast I have almost been here for a month which is crazy . My 14 month mark is tomorrow so that is cool. We have interviews and Zone Conference tomorrow so I get to go down to St. Thomas so I am pretty stoked for that. Well my investigators are awesome we picked up five more family members of Shirley and Bernadette so we are working with them they are from Haiti. I forgot to tell you that there all really cool they speak French and English there parents all speak French and don’t understand English so that is crazy. It is so much fun though there are 8 total that we are teaching, but three of them have been baptized so we get to teach a big huge group that is fun. I really enjoy it, we are also still teaching Diana’s family she is from Guyana by the way and she is Indian so that is cool, no one is really from Tortola. They all just work down here. We are also teaching a girl named Elizabeth that is from the Dominican Republic she did not come to church last week but we are working with her. She is very open and is interested at what we have to say. That book you are reading was the one that I was trying to find, that’s funny that you picked it up. So how long has Dad been in Alaska? Seems like it has been forever. I loved the superman shirt I love getting things like that! I am working out in the morning and night to try and loose some weight I can’t handle being fat anymore! I don’t know how much I weigh because no one has scales here . That is so awesome to hear about Jay and Tina! I am glad they have the desire to go to the Temple that is so awesome! Hi Mom and Dad!
I love it here we had two baptisms last Saturday one was Diana and the other was a girl named Cherly she is 8 and Diana is 25. Cherly is a sister of a recent convert that has been coming to church for quite some time and has had that desire to be baptized so she asked us and we said of course so she asked me to do it, because I seem to be the funnier of us two and the younger ones seem to like me more so that is cool but I baptized her and Elder Dixon baptized Diana so we both got to go down into the water so that was awesome I loved it seriously, never in my life have I ever been so happy! I also got to confirm Diana on Sunday so that was a really spiritual experience for me, I absolutely loved it, it was awesome to just let the spirit dictate to me what exactly needed to be said at that time. Well we also have lots of investigators right now we are actually teaching four other family members of Cherly and Bernadette and they are progressing quite well they all said they would read and pray and come to church so that is exciting I am so excited for them. Manuel had to go back to the Doctors for a week so his date is postponed for now but we are going to get him baptized but we also have Diana’s father who has excepted to be baptized on the 27th of September so that is exciting we are baptizing a lot here and the work is just coming along really well so that is just awesome, I will send you my memory card home you just have to send me a new one because I left my other in my bags in Puerto Rico so the day you get me that I will send it straight home to you, but as for packages we have to be careful because they said sometimes they never get here. I will let you know what exactly happens I think it should be fine my companion really does not know to much he listens to other people all to often and does not figure it out for himself. As for the mail it comes straight here they have a little store that brings it in so that is how we get it. The thing is that I am hoping that we can stay together for another transfer that would be cool so there are about 29 missionaries coming this next few transfers do you know any Arizona missionaries that are coming? I have my Spanish scriptures I am fine. We get our mail when it comes in I think that it takes a little longer to get here than home but we shall see. The Virgin Gorda Elders have the same address as us so they receive mail when we do they just come here every weekend and get it from us. It would be cool to have a Christmas on this island. Tell Elder Keir “hello” for me and that he should write me a letter that would be sweet to hear from him! Give me his address and I will throw him a letter. Oh yeah that reminds me I need a long sleeve shirt we don’t have to wear our suits to church and I left my long sleeve at home. Could you send me one that can have cuff links? My companion gave me some so I would like to use them. I will send some pics home this week. I love it here and well I am glad that things seem to work out. Hello. I am glad you liked the birthday note,it was the least I could do. I am glad that your birthday went well because I wish I was there but I will be there for the 50th ha-ha to funny you will be turning 50 when I get home, ha-ha well that is cool. I will send my memory card home I just need you to send me another because I left the other in my suitcase back in Puerto Rico. Yes, that is the address you can use, and by the way you should get another letter I sent it to the old house that was before you moved so it should be there soon and I am sending another today, as for the moving I am so sorry I wish I was there to help you. I bet Dad and Granpa will have fun in Alaska. I am sure that Grandpa will be just fine he will probably have a really hard time there but he will just love it, I am just glad that he gets to do something that he ahs always wanted to do. I sent you a postcard home so you could see what it is really like here in Tortola. Let me tell you Mom I have never really been so much happy serving here on this island has meant the world to me. I had such a hard time in Puerto Rico and well its just been so awesome here. While I was in Puerto Rico I really was just going through so many steps and was not that happy but I love it here so much, the people are awesome! I love the views, I love working here and hope that I will be here for a really long time. As for old people I have gotten over that I love them now that all changed while I was in Puerto Rico. Diana is coming along well she has been taught everything. She is ready! She is super cool, she is super ready and loves hearing the gospel. Manuel is doing well he is lacking just a few of the commandments but he will be baptized its awesome. The black people that are here are from Tortola it started out as a slave place so that is where they all came from. The island is not that small, it is a small place but we are the only missionaries here so its cool it’s big enough. Oh, I took a small 8 person plane to get here it was an experience let me tell you. We will get to St. Thomas by boat. My companion is really cool he is way awesome, once again he has the same time as me in the mission we came out together but he was in the group that went to Santo Domingo. Mom I love it here so much, the people are awesome! I love hearing about all that is going on thank you so much for informing me I will keep everyone in my prayers! I need new garments so if you could send me some. I am sorry that I have spent so much money, I just came out here with nothing and everything is so expensive. Hi Mom and Dad!
My experience this past week has been
absolutely amazing I love it here so much its awesome my favorite part is that I can wake up ever morning and look outside and see mountains on the left and right and then a straight look at the beach which is cool, I am literally serving in paradise! You asked if St. Thomas was in my zone and it is. It is right next to us, its about a 45 minute boat ride to get there that is where the Zone Leaders are so once every transfer we get to take a boat over there have a conference there, so that is going to be awesome! We do have a couple missionaries on our island there names are the Solomon’s and they are from Snowflake,AZ they are super sweet they help us out a lot! There are us and the senior couple on this island. We have two Elders that are on Virgin Gorda that come over once a week for district meetings, that are in our district so that is cool. I love the people here, they talk to you as everything is a story and they are hilarious and so awesome. You asked if I use my Spanish well happens that there are lots of Dominicans that come here for work so we have a Spanish group here. Which is way cool so I gave a talk in Spanish last week for the Sacrament meeting, they meet in the night for an hour. My companion is on his fifth transfer here so he is getting a little bit lazy but its all good because he is cool and he has had lots of success. I am hoping that he gets out of here next transfer just because its getting hard for him to work.I feel as if I am in a totally different mission. I sent home a letter but it takes like two weeks I forgot that you guys were moving, so it will probably take longer. We have two baptismal dates that we gave this week one to a lady her name is Diana she is super cool she is Indian but is way awesome she cooks Indian food for us every time we go ever so that has been cool getting some different types of food. Then there is Manuel who speaks Spanish so its been cool teaching in Spanish because my companion does not know Spanish very well so I have been doing a lot of that work. Will you call Lillian to tell her that I got sent to an island and I am sorry that I didn’t have the chance to say good bye, everything happened so fast she knew that I was leaving but I didn’t even know I was going to an island until like the night before.The Branch here is so awesome there was like a record high of like 42 people in church, the church is a rented space at the top of a three story building so that is cool. Hi Mom and Dad.
Your so lucky that I love you and am writing you. Ha-ha its all good you probably forgot that today is P-Day for me , you can write me double next week. We got transfer information my companion and I are both leaving he is going to be a Zone Leader and I am going to the island of Tortola so that is the exciting news of the week. I am super excited I get to teach the gospel in English so that is way cool. I got your package Thank you so much! Tortola has a truck so I will be in a truck and then my new companion is going to be Elder Dixon he is from Texas I have never met him so we shall see, its all good no matter how he is I have the opportunity to go to an island which I was never expecting. I have to pack a 50 pound bag that is all I can take with me so that is going to be tuff. I m super excited I never thought that I would go. Tortola is suppose to be one of the prettiest islands its next to St. Thomas. I will probably go there when we have conferences. I am excited to see St. Thomas too. Things are awesome I have had an great week we had two investigators in church Monique who has a desire to change her life, she has been on and off the streets since she was a teenager and has a desire to change and loved church. We were going to give her a baptismal date on Wednesday so we are going to try and stop by and do it tonight. I had the opportunity to talk to Randy and Lillian they don’t really understand what I am doing we tried to explain but I don’t think they understand. We were going to do service for them yesterday but the other Elder Perez is sick so we had to take him to the doctor so its all good. I am bummed that we are both leaving because its always harder to get the other missionaries to work with your investigators because they did not find them so they don’t work as hard with them, but we talked to the assistants so they will make sure they are working with them. Its going to be crazy to be gone from Puerto Rico everyone says that it is a totally different mission,I probably won’t write as much while am in Tortola I will see how everything works out there. Well its awesome to hear that you had such a good time in Michigan. I bet that was great to see all of your family considering it doesn’t happen that often. Thanks for sending me a package I really appreciate it. My knee is okay since I am in my car but it doesn’t hurt that often because of the car but I guarantee that if I am in a car for a few months I will be fine that I know. Life is crazy I am grateful for the opportunity that I have to serve and its only 11 more months. I have been back for more that three weeks that is so crazy. Yesterday we had the opportunity to hear from President Johnson he is head of the Caribbean now, since President Mask got sick. Pres. Mask is now in Utah working on preach my gospel. It was so awesome to hear from him yesterday he is such an inspiration, he talked to us on how we are doing right, but we are not relying on the spirit and its so easy to loose it. We definitely have to be more conscious it was so awesome because President was so nervous. It is awesome to know that he knows that he has authority and it just shows how humble President really is. Next week is transfers one of the assistants is going home so I get to see him leave its cool he is one of my favorite missionaries, its awesome. I really don’t want to leave this area but it’s bound to happen, so if it does it is no big deal to me. I have had so many cool experiences since I have been back! Yesterday we had the opportunity to give three blessings it was super cool. I will write those in a letter its been a great learning week. Time is going to pass so fast I have to make worth of what I have because I don’t want to leave knowing that I didn’t do all that I could. I love you guys so much! Oh, and have fun packing!

I am so glad to be here it has been awesome to come back to say the least. I am back here in Puerto Rico I got put into an area called Guaynabo with another Latin companion, who is awesome and I love very much. Believe it or not he is more random than me which is hard to believe because that just doesnt happen very often. I am super excited because I got put into the area of my second cousins who are non members, so you never know what can happen. Hopefully the best. Man things are so crazy I am grateful for this opportunity that I have to serve and be in the work again! I know that this is where the Lord wants me to be and I wouldn't have it anyother way.. I had a had an amazing experience this week. I went on trade offs with the a ZL, Elder Howell from Kansas. We had been working hard all day long, we were at the point to either take a break to eat because we were waiting for a member. We just kept going and talk to people. Elder Howell decieded we would contact a old investigator who was almost baptized, but took another route, and it never happened. We stoped by and she shared with us on how her nephew had just passed away, so we all shared stories. I shared a story about my Grandma, because I did not know her too well, but I know that I will someday, because this is possible thru the plan of salvation, that God created for us. It was way cool, the spirit was so strong. We talked and talked, I asked her how she felt when she read the B.O.M., and she said that it was a very special feeling, one that she could not explain very well. We told her that, that is the spirit testifying of the truthfullness of it all. We extended a baptismal invite, and she accepted, so we gave her a date. She was so happy, and you could really tell. It just shows that the Lord knows what is going on, and that everything is possible, you just never know what the Lord has in store for you and that his hand is in this work, and it is true! I know that all is going to be well and the Lord will bless me for this descion that I have made! Well I love you all! Love, Logan

Hello!

Well my arrival in Puerto Rico was way good. I arrived on time at like 8:30 pm and had my bags and everything and President Dewsnup and his wife were waiting for me outside because they could not come in where the baggage claim is I guess I am feeling like a missionary now don’t have much choice. My plane ride from Georgia was a good one it happened to be that a Mormon family from the metro ward was sitting right next to me. It was pretty funny they had four kids and he was there for the FBI. I slept in my apartment last night I am in Guaynabo, which is our cousins area. How crazy is that? I got dropped off at my house right after I got off the plane, President just talked to me in the car and was super cool. Well yeah so my companion is Elder Perez {the other Elder Perez it is not my same companion from before} He is way cool and hard working. He is from Puerto Rico, so I am in the house of the AP’s so that is way cool. No big deal its fun there, awesome. Well love you so much. I have to go they are rushing me out of here! Well I love you guys so much! Have fun.

A month after surgery Logan was cleared to return to full time missionary service!

Good News....

So, we got the best news in the world. Logan will be having surgery on Monday the 16th, he will be having some floating bone chips removed from his knee area. There is no rehab, just a simple procedure, and he should be back on his mission and in Puerto Rico by the beginning of July. Wow... we are so grateful for answers to prayers! Thanks for all the support, prayers and love on our behalf, we have surely felt it. The Lord surely has plans, that we don't sometimes see or acknowledge, I have learned alot about myself throughout this whole ordeal. I have a firm testimony that God hears and answers prayers! He is in control of our situations, and knows what is best for all of us. Again Thanks for the support. Remember us on Monday, and the days to come. I will keep you posted!

Hola Madres con Padres,

Life here in Aguas Buenas Puerto Rico is kind of boring. Not much happens here unfortunately. We have had the opportunity to go the doctor twice this week, so we got to go to Bayamon.
We had a family of some less actives come to church this past week it was so awesome we had a family home evening with them it was super special, the spirit was so strong the Father had not been to church in years and he came this past Sunday it was so awesome. I love helping out the families, I heard about the two new temples being built one in Gilbert and the other in Gila Valley. I hope that they are not done before I get home. I never imagined four temples in the state, but that is so awesome! What a blessing to the state of Az. The big news is that Quentin L.Cook from the Quorum of the Twelve is going to come visit us on the 13th of June that is so awesome I am so excited. I hope that he will announce a Temple if he can do that I don’t know or maybe he is going to organize another Stake here. Hopefully they will announce some kind of news, we are all waiting anxiously. On Mother’s Day I will be calling home, I am so excited! I am going to call from the church we can have as much time as we want. Hopefully I can talk to Colten too somehow. Oh, I need a couple of things butterscotch morsels because you can not find them here even at Wal-Mart. We had zone conference this past week and it was so awesome President Dewsnup talked about faith. I talked about it on the tape so I you will hear all about it. I am going to send you a new tape front and back. Some is for everyone, the girls at the shop all of them. Nothing that exciting has happened here I am out of minutes on my calling card so I will just buy a new one today, no worries!

Hola Momma & Papi,

The thing with the ties is that yeah I have a ton but the ones that I don’t like I share with the world, I cant wear the skinny ones I am way to fat and well you know I am a sharing guy, I have to have the best ties in the mission and well there are people that have better than me, ha-ha no but I love everything that you send me you don’t have to send me any if you don’t want to, yeah so you wanted to know all about my area it is incredibly pretty and yes poor but hey its not that bad the average probably include all the people that don’t work and trust me there are many, I will write on the backs of them next time, I like keeping my memory cards until they are full because I always send them home and well don’t get some of the pictures that I want so well you can just be patient. Hah jk.That bus picture is in Rio Piedras train by the way, you could send me some contacts I got my glasses adjusted yesterday. Yeah .we didn’t have investigators in church we had some less active members that have not been in awhile. my new apt is pretty awesome it does not have ac but its in the mountains so it is plenty cool in the night time, I really like it its spacious and has couches that is some luxuries that are not usually found in our houses, but its all good, so far my favorite apartment was the one in Caguas, by the way Caguas is right down from us we are the mountains of Caguas. that is so awesome that you heard from Pepe I knew that she was staying in Samoa but tell her that I love her and hope all is well, tell her when I go on my honeymoon maybe we will come to Samoa. I plan on being married the same week Colten gets home. If I send you a letter home for her will you make sure that it gets to her? That is to bad bout Granpa we shall see if he is still alive when I get home. I hope so because it’s sad but I don’t even know him. All is well I wrote you a letter and it’s in the mail today so you will get it soon. Well my comp is from the Dominican Republic again and he came out at the same time as me and his name is Elder Perez he is pretty cool he says that he is not hurting anymore so I really think that he was just faking so that he didn’t have to ride a bike anymore he woke up this morning and said that he is not hurting. This past week we have been looking for an apartment because there are going to be more Elders coming to Caguas so we are going to have 4 because it is a huge pueblo. I am super excited. because there is so much area to cover that it needs to have more, there used to be six here, its the fact that so many people are leaving and President is not receiving any new missionaries they are being forced to shut areas down so, its difficult but there needs to be more Missionaries here so I think that the Lord knows that there has to be more. Well it’s so crazy. I cant believe it well the thing is that they told me that I am leaving but I think that it is just the other side of Caguas at least I hope so because I have moved so much I will be in my fourth area, I definitely need more time in Caguas, well you can tell Dad that I found a guy that we can go fishing with he is super cool, they are probably in there late thirties well he asked if we wanted to go fishing but we can’t so I said when I come back after my mission we will definitely have to go. He said that he would take us and the wife would hang out with you, they speak English their names are Sunni and Carlos there so awesome they made us dinner last night and she asked me what I wanted and of course I said that I wanted Mexican food so she made us tacos, how cool is that? She is super awesome! Elder G**** is staying here in this area so we will not be companions anymore thank goodness I sent you a letter last week or a couple of days ago I don’t even know anymore you really just forget the days of the week and they all seem to blend together. The letter from Miss Kimzey was great and yes I understood every word I will get her a letter in the mail this week. Things are definitely crazy. Tell my brother that I love him and that he is my heroe. I got the ties that was exactly perfect I love them. Hello there Mother and Papi!

Elder G**** is from Aguadilla but he was born and raised in New York until he was 16 so he knows so much more English than Spanish, and he doesn’t talk like a Puerto Rican so he is American to me. I did not baptize Natalia her Uncle did but it was still super cool she is 12. I need Dale and Michelle’s address. Maybe her email so I could email her? That is good that Dad is spending time with Granpa The family did not watch the movie with us but they did come to a church activity that was held the night before on Friday, there car broke down so he had to fix it the entire weekend. Did you take in the part where he talked about the members and how they need to find those people for the missionaries to teach, you don’t even know how true that is. Every missionary was like clapping there hands when he said that. I got the letters that you sent along with the pictures yesterday and I got the newsletter Saturday, or Monday actually I don’t know. You can always forward Colten's emails to me I email him but its always awesome to hear the other side to. I could only imagine my little Papi and how sad he is but tell him to suck it up and get over it. That is the “no feeling Logan” coming out, ha-ha. But no it will always pass, the crazy thing is that I have missed everyone but not nearly as much as I thought I would. Life is just so crazy, I think that I am finally into this missionary life thing because everything just comes so natural now and life as a missionary is just second nature. I really cannot imagine not being here, I am enjoying serving the people and meeting the everyday challenge we are faced with. Well I just want to let you know that I love you guys and well at least you are not stuck with someone 24 hours a day. At least you can have a little bit of freedom!

So I am in Caguas and well my companion is from here his name is Elder G**** he is way crazy he is definitely a nerd and says that he wants to know everything and take over the world, a bit of a wack job if you ask me, but it shall be interesting, I am just hoping that my knee will be fine, with all the walking I was doing it was still hurting but I just didn’t want to go home so I told a few fibs to stay out here, but I have a car now and well it shall be really good, I am in the largest ward in all of Puerto Rico and supposedly all of the members here are really cool and help with everything, its super sweet they have dinner nights for the missionaries so we are going to get fed all of the time, well President told me that if the other two baptismal dates that we have get baptized on those exact days then I am allowed to go to those baptisms so I am hoping that I will be able to go to the baptism this Sunday and then the one on the 13 so that should be really cool because I love the people over there and they are the first persons that I am going to be visiting when I get back to this place that is for sure, I loved it over there and had the best time, it was quite a shock when I found out I was leaving well with all of the work that we were doing it was a bit of a downer well it is all good now because I think that I am going to be awesome here because I think they need someone with a little bit of street smarts here because the other guy that was here before me still didn’t know where to go he used a map the whole time and was here for 5 transfers, so crazy lets just hope that he doesn’t kill himself in the other area because its difficult, but man the other two people that are in my district seem like they are from another world, so we shall see what happens, it will definitely be a little bit different considering my whole mission I have been around normal sane people, well who knows. Well how are you? By the time that you get this you just might be done with Colten for the next two years. Well I got all the packages and the letter. I hope that you got my letter I sent some pictures home too.

I am so excited for Colten his adventures have started it will be a long journey and its not as easy as everyone thinks it is. I heard about the live session a lot of the missionaries do it before they go into the MTC, I just can't believe that he is already there I feel like he really just got his call yesterday, he kind of did. so crazy! So you packed Colten suitcase? Basically you did mine too. That is super exciting; he needs to gain some independence. So awesome. So Colten made money for his mission that is super awesome, well that is so unfair! Oh well I don’t need anything because my Mom treats me the best in the world so its all good with me.

We didn’t do anything that special for Easter just the church had a thing in the morning at five o clock in the morning that less active and our investigators wanted to go so we had to wake up at 4:30 never again in my life. We didn’t really have any appointments we visited some members and they cooked some fish for us. It was really good.

So is Chad ready to get out of there to, I wanted to write him a letter I just don’t think that he would get it in time so I will just get one sent off the MTC for him. So who is Kelcie Allen marrying you should send me a copy of her announcement. Well things are different but it will be good.

Hi Family!
Yes I got the battery I forgot to tell you last week that when I was doing laundry the battery fell out of my clothes and well it works fine so I guess I will have an extra battery.

I watched the DVD that you made with us Wells Missionaries and absolutely loved it for sure.

I know that President knows what is going to happen because we had zone conference on Monday and he said that he heard from the doctors and that he was going to call me and today is Wednesday so I will call him today and he will probably call you after. But there is no doubt that everything will be okay.

I figured that Colten would speak it really is not that big of a deal really.
That is super sweet that Stacey and Sherry are going to come for Colten’s farewell, give them a big hug for me. Okay.

I have the greatest story this week it was so awesome so there was this kid his name is Andres well he is super cool he said we could come by his house and well we went by there on Monday and well he started talking to us and it turns out that he has been taught the discussions before and so we started asking him questions taught him the first and second lesson he already knew everything and then we watched “Finding Faith in Christ” and he loved it and then he was like when can I get baptized and we asked when do you want to get baptized and then he said when can you baptize me and we said this Sunday well he was super excited because he has wanted to get baptized for over a year I don’t know what happened but he wanted to be baptized and never was so he is super excited and never had I seen such a person prepared as he was. so coooooool. Well he then prayed and he prayed to be able to serve a mission go to the temple and be able to be baptized. The cool thing was, was that the Dad gave his permission and all was great. He is super excited and everything will be good. We also have been working with a lady named Heidi she is super cool she didn’t come to church last week but she wanted to. She is a single Mom and well we taught her and she was crying listening to our message and the spirit was super strong we are just hoping that she will act on our message and not let Satan grab hold of her. So well its super sweet the work is crazy here, the Ward is working really hard and they are begging to see the fruits of there labor. Jonathon will get baptized this Sunday to he is only a 8 year old kid so its like he will get baptized its just teaching him because we have had to teach him at the Church so we haven’t had as much time to teach him because his house is to crazy and well so what can you do, he might get postponed for one more week if we cant get to his house and teach him. But the work is definitely great, our Ward is starting a dinner sign up sheet in the Relief Society and so we will get a lot more food. Its way sweet though.

The only thing that I really want at this time I some cool Easter ties some light striped ones even if there silk that is okay. I hope that you put some ties in my package you just sent. I sure have missed getting them. You could send Elder Polanco a package he would love that he does like lots of chocolate and so that would be cool he would be grateful for what ever you gave him.If you wanted to find a cheap pair of pants for Elder Polanco his are all really small he needs like a 36 because his are all like 32 because he is getting fat.
I have not had the chance to get to old San Juan yet but we will hopefully this transfer one of these P-Days. The only game that I played in the MTC was four square and me and some of the other missionaries made jokes that we were going to come back with our tags and play one day. haha.I don’t know how I handled 9 weeks in there I don’t think anyone knows how they do it they just do, no but I had Elder Alexander and some cool missionaries we kept each other sane.
The Good Byes are not that big of deal, I look back now and see how funny we all looked. Only if we knew before hand what we were doing. It’s sad but for sure it’s all in your head. I cant believe that I am going to be out for 8 months Stefan is out 16 and when I left he had 8 and seemed like he was gone forever man time is such a weird thing. The cool thing is when we have a year out that will be the bomb.

Well Elder Tanuvasa and Elder Bangart and Elder Camden all left my zone and we got two more Latinos and another Elder that came out with me that has been out in the islands his whole mission. He doesn’t understand any Spanish and especially the Puerto Ricans so well he asked me if I understand and I said that I understand about 90 percent and he said that he will never be able to do it, its just so funny because I remember being in that position and thinking that I would never understand anything and well I understand almost everything. So crazy. Well life isn’t so bad and well I am definitely keeping busy ! I love you all so much! Peace, Logan

Dear Family,
I got the shoes today thank you so much. I have been doing service in church shoes and gym shorts you could imagine at how weird that looks? (ha-ha) I talked to President Dewsnup, I am assuming he called because you said something to him. When he called me on Friday and he said that more than likely I would probably be able to stay. So I was getting really excited.

That is too funny to hear about Morgan has a different type of a companion you can learn so much from anyone if you give them the chance. Just hope that he doesn’t get all macho on the Elder and give him the cold shoulder. He could end up finding some great friends there. I know that I did.

That is too crazy that Colten is leaving in twenty one days I bet he is so excited, our transfers will be the same week because he leaves in three weeks and will be in the field in another three weeks so we will be on the same schedule. So what day do you leave for Salt Lake the Monday before? That is so crazy.

I sent you a letter earlier this week and well it will probably be there tomorrow or something like that.

So Colten is scared to talk well the fact is tell him to get over it. I gave a talk in the MTC and they are always making you do things in front of people. We have sung several times in front of the congregation and my second Sunday I had given a talk here in Puerto Rico in Spanish. So the sooner he gets over it the better. It’s really not that big of deal.

So Jayson is working at Pure Fitness, is that the same place where Jay Gearhart works? I am so excited for him to be going to Apollo College. He just needs to stick with it no matter how hard it gets. Because there is a lot of science with that and well it won’t be easy. So they all went to Vegas was that for Jayson’s birthday? At least they are doing things.

As for Tristan he looks like a little devil seems that he has the same attitude that Gracie has when she was a little girl.

So as for the transfers I did not get transfered and really I don’t understand why I was not transferred? They tell me not to ride my bike but there is no way that this area can be walked and I know that they are not planning on giving us a car. It’s just so crazy to know Pres. Dewsnup is thinking, he throws curve balls and well, I don’t think I can handle another transfer here in this area it is way to big. I am really confused right now. As for stories I don’t really have any, I just try to make it through the week with a good attitude trying to understand what is going to happen. So if Salt Lake says that I can stay does he plan on keeping me here where all the problems started? I just want to know some things? I can deal with it. But the thing is that things are good right now. I am with Elder Polanco and he helps me out more than anything I have a way sweet district who are all awesome and well even though I don’t know these things I still have trust in my heavenly father that everything will work out. What can you do? Well things are a bit hectic right now but I go through it like a snow plow. Well I love you so much and wish the best with the new smile!

Well hello there.

Right now the knee has been getting so much better, I am not really hurting that bad. I know that the lord knows all and that I have defiantly found comfort in all of this. Well I know that all will be okay. The only thing was that I did not want to tell you as it is so much easier for someone else. I sent a letter home with the memory card
that will tell you more about my knee.

So Chad went to the temple that is so awesome he wrote me a letter last week I replied but I just don’t feel like sending any letters home when I don’t know what is going to happen.

I thought Dad thought that his CTR ring was lost. That is neat that you
fixed it for him for Valentines Day.

The CTR ring is fine; I like wearing it better on my middle finger anyways. I don’t even wear it out tracting because some of the areas are not the best in the world.

I got the Valentines package but not the memory cards I sent my memory card home last Friday. So you should get that soon. Somehow I have lost the battery to my camera, I don’t know how I did, I am still trying to fiqure that out. So I haven’t taken any pictures for awhile.

I have not got the vans yet but the Elders are going this week so hopefully they will pick that up for me. You sent me another memory card but it was the one with Colten opening his call and I sent that back.

So how excited is Morgan? I bet he is just ready to go. That is too funny that they are still shopping I was so ready to go when I left.

I can’t believe that Tristan is already two. Man that’s nuts. Considering he was just starting to walk when I left.

We baptized Jon Carlos along time ago, we are baptizing a kid name Jonathan in two weeks on March 2nd.

We are hoping to go to old San Juan next P-day, so that should be super fun. Pretty sweet. well yeah all is well and well have a great week.

Mother and Family.
As for how grateful you are for me I promise that I am ten times more grateful for you. You have 4 kids to share your love and I only have one Mother to give all my love.

Well yeah I got the mail with the social security card. Thank you so much. I have not got the package because there was no one to accept it so they are going to bring it by tomorrow and I will get it.

Don’t worry about the shoulder bag I have one right now that will last for a good month more. Don’t worry about it.

Well the Elder that was with us in the trio went home this past week, he had a problem with depression so he was getting really bad and never wanted to work and well things just got crazy and so he went home last Friday. He was so good and man I miss him. He was awesome, and I learned quite a bit from him. But he needed to go and figure some things out.

That is so crazy that Morgan is already leaving I feel like he just got his call yesterday, oh wait he basically did. That is so funny about Colten being so picky about his shirts. It didn’t even matter to me. He will learn to just be grateful for all that he is given. All shirts are going to feel funny at first but they will get worn and will be good. Just tell him to wash them a couple of times and he won’t even be able to tell.

Yeah, Elder Kelly is in my Zone, poor guy! I feel bad for him, because he is over the Sisters. I don't have a title, Thank Goodnes! I am happy to be normal missionary!

I get along so well with my companion. I have been blessed so far with that. As far as the spanish, it is coming along, I can do pretty well at teaching and understanding.

I figured Colten was hanging out with Chad, because he wrote me a letter. That is definitely pretty cool because Chad is such an awesome friend and great example.

I figured that Grandpa was there, that is sweet. Looks like you have three kids again Dad Grandpa and Josh. Too funny. I can promise you now that I don’t pee outside of the toilet or on the seat because now I have to clean it because there is no one else to do it.

So you went to the dunes I remember when we went for new years last year, I don’t like it that much. But it was fun.

Yes in the tape you definitely hear the Koki frogs they are annoying and YES I am definitely accustomed to them right now.

Well things here are picking up. We have had 2 baptisms this transfer, with the hopes of 2 or 3 more for sure. Last month we only had 20 Baptisms in the whole mission, and 5 of them were in our District. There is about 25-30 Districts in the Mission. Right now our Mission is taking some hits, we are loosing so many ELders, and none are coming in. Since the 28 Elders that came the same time as me, we have had 20 go home, and only about 6-7 new Elders. This next couple of weeks when transfers come again, we are loosing 4-5 Elders, and gaining only 1 Elder. So crazy, huh?

We have an 8 year old boy who is going to be baptized the 2nd of March so that is pretty cool. His parents are not members but his Brother is and he they come to church with a member. They have been coming for a about a year now.

I just want to thank you for everything that you have done, and the family you have been my heroes and I am just thankful to have the family that I have.

Hola Famila,

My knee is fine no worries it hurts, but hey I can deal with it. We did not get a car. We did get another Elder, so we are a threesome now. His name is Elder Lloyd, he is from California. I cannot believe he is 26 year old. Too think that he is the same age as Stacey, and she has 3 kids. He looks 21 though. He has been out about 18 months.

I did get the package with all the stuff I it. I got the package today with the shirts and the cookies. Man I love them so much. That is the only thing that I don’t share with anyone. Sorry but they are just too tasty. Every once in a while I will have a little love in my heart and share a little. Ha-ha. Not that much though.

So we had the Baptism this last Sunday for Nayda. So awesome her Uncle was supposed to do it, but at the last minute he said he was sick so he couldn’t come to church. Well so she asked me to do it. So I baptized her. It was definitely pretty cool. The spirit is so strong. Nayda is awesome she was so nervous but she knew that the decisions she was making were correct.

We did not have our zone conference yet that is next Monday.

Yes, we got moved. The apartments are fairly close about a mile away. It is way better than the other apartment it came furnished and everything so that is definitely pretty sweet. We have a couch, and a kitchen table. The bedroom is a little small but hey it’s only for six weeks.

So Colten, time will definitely come faster as you get closer to your mission. Then time goes by so fast when you are out I can promise you that.

Yes the picture I sent home was Pamela she is a super cool girl, definitely a little hard to understand. But she is super sweet and a great example. We are having another baptism this next Sunday his name is Jon Carlos he is 16 and is a friend of a member he is so full of the spirit and he is way excited to be baptized.

We wear our suits to church every Sunday that is the only requirement. My shoes are fine. The rockports are definitely my favorite they seem to have the best support for my big fat feet. Ha-ha.

I need to have the original social security card, because Elder Thomas tried to get his drivers license but they would not allow him to get his license because he did not have the original card.

So Zac will be the first one to go outside of the electric circle that’s sweet. I am excited for him to become a pilot. Tell him “Good-Luck” for me!

Yeah we heard the news about Pres. Hinckley but it’s not sad to me at all. He is finally getting to be with those people that he misses so much. His parents and his wife. If others hear of his death, it will open a lot of opportunities for us as Missionaries for sure.

Well so life is great. I am loving the work and the people here! I love you all! Elder Wells

Well how goes it? Man things here are great. Unfortunately Nayda did not get baptized this week. But she wants to get baptized this next week. Something happened with the ride and well it shall all be good. We are going to baptize this transfer so that is pretty sweet.

Well I am not leaving. But that is totally fine with me. Well we are going to be a threesome. There is another Elder coming to be with us this transfer. So we will have three of us. So I was wondering if you had the address of the elder that taught us all? Elder Jackson?

Well I have not got the package yet but I will probably get it tomorrow when the other companion comes.

Well the good thing is this week we got to go look for a new apartment because we were having some problems with the landlords son. I told you he stole my shoes? Well we got to look and so we found one and we are going to be moving. Yeah. I will give the address to there next week so that you can send letters there.

So yesterday I sent a letter home I wrote it last Wednesday but barely mailed it yesterday. It has some pics in it so that will get you excited.

The big story this week is that I went to the hospital because there was a member in the hospital I don’t know where he went to church. Well we were told to give him a blessing because he had been in a coma for a week and a half. So we went to the hospital and as I sat there and watched the Mother just holding his hand and talking to him. He was completely lifeless he had a machine helping him breath and he had stitches all over his head. Well as I did the blessing I could fell just how much love the savior has for us. As I watched the Mom I just wanted to take all the pain she was feeling at that time and just put it on my shoulders. I have taken advantage of so much. And it made me realize just how precious life is and how grateful I am just to have never had to experience something like this. It was just so humbling.

Well the problem is now is that I need my actual social security card so you will have to send that.

Man Stacey’s kids have grown up so much. Even Gracie that is insane. She is such a little girl. Oh man.

Dear Family,

How was your week? Mine was awesome!

Yes, tranfers are next week. I cannot believe how fast time is going. To think I have been here almost 6 transfers, and 6 months of my mission is gone. Tell Colten, it goes by faster than he will think.

The girl Nayda's baptism was postponed for a week, so it should happen this Sunday. She is a sweet girl who comes to church every week with her Uncle Joseph Smith, and her Aunt Maria. We have been teaching another boy, a Grandson of a member of the Ward.

The spanish is coming along. I am not fluent, but I can communicate pretty well now. Elder Polanco's mom lives in Florida, but he was raised by his Grandma in the Dominican Republic. He really doesn't get much mail or packages.

Yes, I got the package. I always love the cookies from Sweet Cakes, I can eat them in a day. I was suprised the belt fit. I have lost about 30 pounds with all this bike riding, which is good.

So, Colten has to buy a trench coat.. Sometimes I wish I would get cold. It rains here all the time, sometimes we get so wet we have to go home and put our clothes in the dryer. I will send you a picture of me all wet! You will never see a picture of me on a bike with a helmet, so plan on that one. Ha Ha.

I am so happy that Granpa went thru the temple, I wish I could have been there too. Well again Thanks for everything you do. I loved the newsletter as always. I don't understand that Chase is going to to Mexico and speaking French?

Dear Family,
So you got the presents I sent home? So sorry about the statue being broken, you could try to glue it. The keychain was for you to. Sorry that the presents were so cheesy but they were really supposed to be funny.

As for my knee I have talked to Sister Dewsnup and the fact is that she told me to just take lots of ibrophen and then to do that for a couple of weeks. She does not want me to go to the doctor because the chances of needing surgery are pretty likely and she said they would have to send me home. But no worries she said that they will probably just put me in a different area this next transfer so it will all work out. Well don’t worry seriously everything is fine. My knee hurts but it will all be good. It didn’t bother me before so they will end up just transferring me in the next transfer because everything was fine before and well it will all work out.

So Justin is getting married is there a ring and everything. That is sweet when is the official date?

Pamela’s baptism was absolutely amazing her Mom is a member but she can not come to church because she is always working. The Father is not a member but he did not approve at all because he is catholic so she had been coming to church for 4 months and then he finally decided to let her get baptized and then he came to the baptism so that was really sweet he was really nice and cool, we are trying to get in and teach him but he is always working. I really love the baptisms on your mission because you see all of these people at the baptism and then you see the elders they are trying to hide in the back and not be noticed its such a sweet experience because you have these elders who have taught for 6 weeks or sometimes longer and there just trying to stay out of the way. We have another baptism this Sunday her name is Nayda she is 10 years old and her Aunt and Uncle are members but no one else she has been coming to church for a really long time and well her home life is not the best but she comes to church every week and wants to be baptized. We usually do not do the confirmation they like people in the ward to do it. Because it helps them stay active longer and gives them something to share. Pretty sweet. I am in a ward right now I am part of the San Juan Stake and we have about 70 to 80 people in church every week. So that’s pretty sweet. The ward is awesome I love being in a ward because the people know how a church needs to be ran and in the other little branches we definitely have to help the branch keep going. The building is about half a mile away from our house.

We are having a cleaning day today, so our apartment will be clean. Elder Polanco and I are getting along great. Elder Thomas is in my zone. I have talked to him a couple of times but not much.

I have not got the package yet because the zone leaders have all the mail and we have not seen them yet so I have not gotten anything since Christmas letters. Lame but I like getting a lot at once.

Man I am so excited for Colten he is going to get a little cold in New Jersey. Man I wish. The snow or something remotely cold sounds like heaven. Man that is exciting for all of them.

So Dad finally got released what calling does he expect next ha-ha. Elder’s quorum teacher. He is prepared.

I am definitely loosing weight again that is the sweet part. Everything is starting to get really loose. But that is what a belt is for. I have had to make three more holes for my belt. Haha. You are definably not getting a picture of me riding a bike so don’t plan on it.

Well I forgot to write my address down again. Its okay just sends stuff to the mission office. I don’t really trust this house anyway. My vans were sitting outside of the door. We enter thru the garage and well my vans got stolen by the landlord’s son he is like 30 and is a drug addict. Sad but yeah so the office is fine for now.

Yo what it do Familia?

Well zone conference is on Monday we are having a little Christmas thing supposedly all the Elders of the mission are going to be there except the ones on the islands. So you have emailed PePe? She is the Samoan lady she is absolutely awesome and definitely one of my favorites.

So yeah I am in Rio Piedras, my companions name is Elder Polanco he is from the Dominican Republic and does not speak a word of English, its cool though because it forces me to learn my Spanish and talk more in Spanish. It is in San Juan area it’s just another city in a city its like Phoenix we are part of the Phoenix area but we live in Mesa.

There is one elder from my MTC group over here he is in the area next to mine. I am biking, that’s it nothing else we walk after six because that is the rule but yeah biking all the way, it’s really hilly so that is a little bit hard. I am trying to get used to it.

Yeah I am at the college right now doing email. Christmas calls can only be 40 minutes long. That’s a bummer.

About Colten’s call, yes it will fine with me that he opens it.You can still just tape it and send me a memory card so that I can watch it. Unless it comes before Christmas then I want to talk and find out from him,so that will be fine.

We have a baptism on Sunday so that is cool her name is Pamela she is 15 and really cool. We have a couple of other people we are working with so we shall see. I don’t need the calling card for Christmas, as I will be calling from a members house, they have free long distance.

Things are good. Just the normal missionary stuff. Pretty cool I am excited for this Christmas stuff to be over.

It’s just not the same, but I cannot wait to talk to everybody on Christmas Day.

Hola mi Famila,

Well the news is that I am leaving and Elder Osterloh is staying here. So that is the big news for the week. I don’t know where I am going yet but I will find out tomorrow and therefore I will tell you next week. So I hope you have not sent any letters to my apartment, if you have Elder Osterloh can just give them to me at the Christmas party on the 24th.

I got the newsletter, I really do not like my leaving picture it looks really bad and you should complain and try to get the original before, so that that thing is not on my plaque that would be great.
I especially enjoyed the girl’s letters that is awesome how good they are doing. If you see them tell them I send my love and good luck with everything.

So Eloy is a boy. Maria or Eloy did not get baptized this week its okay though its been a struggle for us because we have worked with them so much and well the Lord knows what he is doing, there is no doubt that they will get baptized it is just a matter of time. So I have learned another virtue of patience I think the lord is trying to teach me that he just keeps reinterating it to me through my work. Ha-ha it’s all good. They will both get baptized, eventually; it’s just too bad I won’t be there to see it. Elder Osterloh said he would call me when it happens.

We are getting only one Elder this transfer, and loosing a good 8 to 10 Elders. So Elder Osterloh is training the new Elder so that is pretty cool, we go pick him up today and we will be a threesome for a night. I have not opened all of the packages I saved the bigger one for Christmas day because I had to pack and it is not possible for me to carry all that stuff around. Well I loved the little quotes and stuff I keep them all and put them in my journal. So I need a new journal also, and a new shaver because mine is breaking. So yeah but that is all really. I locked the pictures that I wanted you to send me so if you could do that, it would be awesome.

So my guess where Colten is going is Jamaica or North Dakota or West Indies (West Indies is where I want him to go but he probably will not go there)I have my calling card but it is put away and I can give that to you next week. I sent my memory card home already it will get there soon. Well yeah so this week was really good. We just went contacting and found some really cool people but all is well. Mother and Father and Brother,
What is up this week was a bit tough. We didn’t have our baptisms but for sure they will end up being baptized. Maria had to work because her brother is in prison so she is doing a lot of stuff for him. Pretty crazy but she said she wants to be baptized this Sunday which is pretty cool. I am definitely excited. They will both end up getting baptized but it is just a matter of time. I know that without a doubt, I know that she had missed three baptismal dates but she has really good intentions and she will be baptized. For sure. Oh yeah Eloy did not get baptized either because at the last moment she said that she wanted to give him more time.

Yeah you sent a memory card but I sent another home and you never sent me one back again. Seriously, I am pretty sure. Hopefully and if not it will probably pop up somewhere. The memory card will be in today if you sent me one on Monday so I will make sure that I do that for you. I have some great pics I really want you to send me some I will have the ones I want copies of locked so that they can’t be erased so that you can know.

So that is sweet that you got that calling because that is exactly what you want to do. Pretty sweet. So have they already got my plaque up yet? Or are they running behind like the normal Valley View ward that I left behind?

Yes, here you also see a lot of caskets above the ground that is how most of them were. I don’t think the family could afford it.Yeah it was crazy to see her dead just laying there but its part of life we all die and there is nothing we can do about it. Didn’t really faze me at all. But it wasn’t Elder Osterloh that jumped in the grave it was Elder Oporto. He is from Colombia; he is pretty cool he came in at the same time as me.

So these twelve days of Christmas package I can’t say that I will save them because I am kind of excited but I will definitely try.

So I can’t believe that Colten’s papers are in I am so excited to see where he is going, man that is so exciting I cant wait. I know that I am not as excited as Colten but man I know exactly how he feels as for the waiting game I could never wish that upon anyone and I am sure that his papers will come back quick. So Morgan’s will be soon to that is so exciting. Were going to have three Wells missionaries out in the field that is going to be sick!

As far as transfers, this next week more than likely they will send Elder Osterloh to a different area because he was in his last area for 6 months and they usually trade your companion almost every time.

Well this week has been absolutely awesome I have met so many cool people as we were walking down the street the other day I was walking and we were looking for people to talk to well I was saying a little prayer in my heart for Heavenly Father to put someone in our way to talk to and meet and teach. Well there was this guy who was cleaning his yard we decided to talk to him usually we don’t talk to people that are cleaning and stuff because they are occupied and they will usually just shoo you away. Well we started talking he asked us if we wanted to come in and talk with him for a little bit and so we went in he gave us cake and some orange juice his Wife was there well we taught them and they were really cool and they wanted us to stop by again and talk some more well long story short the lord answers our prayers and it is important to always make sure that we have prayers in our hearts and that we are listening because it is so easy to just pass on by and never even notice. The Holy Ghost is a still small voice and well if we are asking and not listening it will pass us by and we will never know what happened. Well this week has been amazing time is flying by!

Hola Famila,

My Thanksgiving was absolutely amazing; we went to the Samoan family in our ward we had turkey and all the good stuff. It was way cool then they gave us all the left over’s so we had plenty to eat awesome. It was kind of weird not being together but it was all good. That is awesome that Justin is being so good to those guys. Man that is way exciting, I can’t wait till they get there calls it will definitely go by faster than you can even imagine. And it will be here before they know it. One thing Colten could do is go out with the missionaries. I know that when we have a member present at an appt it is always better and it is one thing that gets converts to stick and stay active in the church. Man I really cant wait till they get there calls and that would be the greatest Christmas present ever that would be awesome especially because we are not going to see each other for so long.

I sent a tape home last P-day so that should be there probably the end of the week.

So I always love everything that is in the packages I loved the stamps the tape recorder everything seriously, I always have so much to say. My gratitude for everything that you guys do for me. I have enough labels. I loved the diabetes shirt of course I wear it all the time along with my dice shirt. Ha-ha did you know that they sent me that shirt?

That is sad to hear about the church. Really if it was a hate crime I wouldn’t want to be judged for that crime even if they don’t get caught there is no fooling heavenly father. That is what funny people think is just because they don’t get caught there okay. But they don’t know that they are working on this earth for there salvation.

Maria is good she wasn’t baptized on Sunday but she said it would be this Saturday. Who knows we just keep working with her who knows what will happen. Eloy is definitely getting baptized this Saturday so we will have a baptism so that is cool. We are working with lots of people but Maria and Eloy have us pretty occupied because we have to contact them every day so that is a lot of work. We are really working with so many people we work with a lot of less actives we are just always busy.

So do you think that you could get me an ipod seriously? They are okay to have. You never answered me so I was just wondering.

I am all good medically I need to work out a little bit more the car is getting me fat again. Hahahaha. Well things are all good here. The food is amazing time is flying by and well I can’t wait till these holidays are over because everyone says the holidays are slower and if that is the case then I am definitely excited because the time is going to fly. Yeah well all is well and if you got any questions give me a ring. Oh wait you can’t. Hahahah. Well all is well and there are no worries here. I will send you another funny story home this week.

Famila,

Things are great here in Puerto Rico. I am fine now with my headache and ears. No worries, they will send us to the doctors if we want to go. It all worked out.

Maria was not baptised this past Sunday. Her brother is in the mental hospital and she had to go take care of him. We have talked to her and she is definetely going to get baptized. We just talked to her and her boyfriend. He now wants to marry her, you have to buy stamps here for marraige, and he allready bought them. Maria wants to get married and baptized on the same day, so we are pretty excited and it will more than likely happen within the next few weeks.
Our other baptismal date is set for the 1st of December. His name is Eloy, his Mom was baptized about 18 years ago. He is a way cool kid and is so excited to be baptized.

Oh our P-Days have changed to Wednesdays, so you will get your emails now on Wednesdays.I don't think it will change much now as there aren't very many holidays on Wednesdays. When there were holidays on P-Days we work, and then our P-Days were changed.

I am so excited about Colten, so he should get his call soon. The tape idea will be great. I want to hear it on the tape, and not by email. So don't let anyone tell me before I get the tape!!

Yes, I was thinking about all of us kids being in different places. I know it will be weird, but 2 years is nothing compared to the eternity. We will all be together soon enough.

Yes, I got the package, I always love everything you send! I love getting ties, keep looking for cool ones.

As far as Thanksgiving, we might go eat with this really cool family. The Mom is Samoan, and the Dad is Puerto Rican, they speak English. They have invited us over, and we really like spending time with their family. It doesn't really seem like holidays really exist here, it is so crazy to think that.

Hola familia!

Things are definitely good. My first baptism is this Sunday, Maria committed to living the law of chastity because she doesn’t live with her boyfriend so it is not a problem for her to get baptized. Pretty cool! So I am doing the baptism this Sunday after church. Yeah I am a bit nervous because it’s in Spanish and well haven’t done that yet but I know that it will be good. But I am so excited for Maria because she has been going to church and yes she absolutely loves it. She is so awesome and is super prepared. She absolutely is amazing. And yes the twelve year old went to church this last week and went to mutual night. We have to get the kids of the branch more active. We are doing amazing Eloy's baptism is the 1st of December we could do it earlier but we want to make sure that he has a good time and the desire stays there so that he can be a strength for his Mom. She is really cool she has to take care of three grand kids a sick Grandma and Uncle and her two kids at the same time. So at the moment it really is impossible for her to get to church but we have the members take the youngest. The older brother came to the mutual night. He is like 19 so he is just a bit difficult but our goal is to get him to be baptized also. I am super excited. So next week I will make sure to get you some pics. MMMkay.

Okay time to answer the questions.
We have zone conference once a transfer.
There really was not any Trick or Treaters I only saw maybe like five.
We alsways go to the social events this last week we went to a family home evening and then cleaned the chapel. The chips arrived fine and they were gone within the couple of days. We don’t have any plans yet for Thanksgiving. The pants fit, I was kind of surprised. So things are good. I will probably gain a little bit back but I am still trying to watch what I eat but it is hard when you are getting fed all the time.

Mom you are amazing and the lord knows that just remember that the Lord will bless you he doesn’t let any good act go unnoticed. But I am doing well, Elder Osterloh and I are getting along great! Well I love and miss you all. Thanks for the support and all that you do for me.

Family,
You have no idea of how awesome it is out here in the mission field. I am not going to lie I absolutely love it now. Yes at first it was really difficult but man I love this place. I love everything about missionary work. I love sharing the gospel and well all that comes along with that. I do have a baptism for the 17th of November she is a really cool lady her name is Maria Diaz she came to church this week she has a super cool spirit and she love church maybe because everyone welcomed her so well. But the only problem is that she has a boyfriend than she has had for 15 years and is not married to him. SO the new goal is really just getting her married. You would be surprised at how often this happens. It’s cool though because we had a really good lesson and she was afraid before to ask him but she said she would ask him and see what he has to say. Its way way way cool! But have I told you how much I love this area and how excited I am to be staying here for a while longer. The guess is that I will probably be here for another two transfers because my comp will probably leave next time leaving me here and then I will stay again and probably leave the next so I will probably be here till the end of January. Pretty cool I am way excited. We had a baptism in our branch this week a guy named Angel it was so cool I got to be the witness so that was awesome. So another thing that is making missionary work so amazing is the less active members we are teaching. There is this lady who got baptized and never went back to church but she is super cool and she has some really cool kids well we are teaching them and we are going to give the younger one a baptismal date this week. So that should be pretty cool. We are so going to have 3 baptisms this transfer that is the goal. We also had zone conference that was pretty amazing President Dewsnup is awesome and knows his scriptures like the back of his head, all the scriptures new and Old Testament. But here is a good scripture that I love,it is 2 Nephi 26 26-31. I love it here and I am falling in love with the people. My companion is amazing and he always keeps me laughing and having a good time. Life is awesome.

I got the email from Colten today I read it before this one so I already knew and emailed him. I am so excited to hear this you have no idea. I think this has been the greatest news that I have heard while on my mission and the greatest news that I am waiting to hear about now. Seriously.

Oh so here is the other news we were walking and biking everywhere this one day and we were completely exhausted completely but then we got this call and the Elders called us and said we have this car that we are going to drop off in about an hour, naturally I said “what car?”, thinking maybe it was a mistake well they said that they were bringing us a car and that it would be here in about an hour. So it is a 2008 Corolla with 40 miles on it. That is way awesome so I might get a little bit fatter this transfer and all that weight that I have lost my just come back, but I am okay with that considering I have a car all the time.

Elder Osterloh absolutely loved the package he opened it up and started wearing the Arizona shirt right away and drinking out of his mug. Man he is such a hoot. Something that his family does is the tape recorder thing, it’s a pretty cool idea and keeps me entertained. Its fun. So if you want to do that,that would be pretty cool.

Hola Famila,

Man things are great; I am staying with Elder Osterloh in this area again so that is definitely pretty cool. We are pretty close and he makes me laugh a lot so that is awesome. But he is so excited to get that package. I already told him. But I like how you knew I was not getting transferred before I did. Seems like they like to keep us on the edge of our seats. Pretty funny. Man things are great. I got the package this week.. I loved the Doritos and the cookies man I think the cookies were gone by the next day. You know that they are my absolute favorite. So yeah. Man I appreciate you guys so much.

SO I am going to do this little book of all of the ugly dogs that I see in Puerto Rico when I get home so if you see dogs on my card don’t erase them because its going to be awesome. So I got my first close encounter with almost getting bit. Hahahaha. So I was walking down the street and there was a dog with a puppy in the middle of the street. We walked by and accidentally scarred the puppy so the momma dog freaked out and came after me. and I held my backpack in front of me and it was trying to bite my backpack but luckily it backed off but it was definitely crazy, I was a wee bit scarred but all worked out. Then the animal lover came out in me and there was a kitten on the side of the road crying so I picked it up and brought it to the neighborhood hoping that it would cry and somebody would take it in.

So the ties are way cool those are exactly what I want just always be looking because all my ties are falling apart and I cant wear all of them. But there is a brown thick tie in my room that I bought awhile ago but never wore it; it is on the back of my door along with the volcom tie if you could send that one to.

So we dropped Epy the older lady because she would not come to church and we invited her to be baptized and she didn’t want to so, it was hard but we are going to go see her in a couple of weeks to see how everything is and if she might have the desire to go. We have met so many people this week we have met a couple of families so we are starting to teach them. It’s just all going well. So this transfer we hadn’t baptized anyone but I am pretty sure we will have a couple this week we are going to invite this lady to be baptized today because she is awesome and I am pretty sure she will except so that will be awesome.

One bad thing this week is that training meetings are over so I will not be going to see all my buds anymore but that is all good. But it’s crazy because we have already been here for six weeks and there is so much area that we have not yet explored so this next six weeks we will find a lot more people and explore our area. We have an area where it is all over the mountains and we have it so we are going to try to find a lot more people.
Well things are good and I can’t believe that time is flying by so fast. Well I love you guys so much. You’re amazing.

Dear Family,

Things were good this past week. Many things happened. Time is flying by so fast, I hit my 3 month mark, insane. I really cannot believe it.

Well next week Wednesday is transfers, they call us on Sunday and tell us if are staying or not. Then if we are leaving our area they will have us go to the meeting on Wednesday, and they call your name and tell you where you are going, without telling you before, they just announce it, it is then you find out. You then run and find your new companion and where you are going. Pretty intense, huh? But more likely I will probably stay here for a couple of transfers at least. Which will totally be fine because we starting to find more and more people to teach, so that is cool.

I finally got to drive a car. Can you believe I haven’t driven in 3 months? It felt so good to drive. I went on a trade off where I went to another area and I was with Elder Opurto, who is from Aruba. He doesn’t have a drivers license, so could not drive. My license is still good, it was so great to drive again. I loved it.

Oh, and I never told you last week I went on a trade off with our Zone Leader, Elder Powers. Well they are on a island called Vieques, it took about 1 ½ hours to get there by boat. I gave my first blessing in Spanish, it was awesome to feel the spirit guide me as I gave it. We had lots of visits to do, and did many things for the members there. After we were done we went to the church building, let me tell you there were HUGE spiders on the wall. They scared me, I wanted to scream and run, and it was so funny because I did exactly that… I screamed and ran. But it was fun.

Good morning family!

I wanted to let you all know that I love you guys and that I have definitely felt your prayers this last week. The work is definitely picking up for us thank goodness. We have met so many people this week a family a few new investigators and a gangster guy who is really excited about Joseph Smith who wants to know so much more. The mission has picked up so much and two years doesn’t really sound that long anymore.

Our landlord is amazing and she cooks amazing food for us she cooks us food almost everyday. She cooks so much better than me so what a relief. No we don’t have ac, I always think after we have been out all day and get home it will be cool, but it is not. I am starting to get used to it, and it doesn’t bother me much now.

I sent the memory card home on Tuesday. The letter probably got there early because we sent them way late in the week so that threw it off.

So we have transfers on Halloween that still baffles my mind because that means I will have been here for six weeks when that comes around nuts.

When you take gospel class you realize how true things really are and it opens your eyes. Man I know exactly what you mean. I love studying Joseph smith he seriously is so amazing and the more I learn the stronger my testimony is of him.

Man I am so proud of Colten. He is amazing. I know that he can go on a mission and what a powerful missionary he will be. So awesome.

Man I miss sushi that is so good, you didn’t like it. I hated it the first two times but it only gets better, so good. MMMMMMM.

Yeah I will buy the bike today more than likely yeah having a bike at every house would make sense but I definitely can take it with me where ever I go. We have a bike rack we put on our car. Pretty cool. I can’t believe I have been out for three months I still can hardly believe that.

Well all is well and things are starting to work out and I am so happy to share this message with the people of Puerto Rico they definitely need it. Hello Family,
My week has picked up so much. Everyone has said that the first week is the hardest, but I am definitely getting used to this.. Oh as for the praying I have never prayed so hard in my life and felt so close to my savior. That is awesome that you are taking an institute class, are there a lot of people or is it just younger or just older people? As for the Mom and daughter they blew us off so who really knows I know they felt the spirit and just have to make that right choice, once they feel the spirit Satan works so hard on people, but they have to make the decisions on there own. We got to watch conference in English which was definitely a relief we watched every session including priesthood. That is awesome to hear about Colten man I am so proud of him he has sure stepped up to the plate. Man that so awesome. I am utterly thrilled for him and I know that heavenly father is looking upon him with desire and knows that he will be such a powerful missionary. Thanks for everything that you sent me. I will probably get it this Saturday because we get stuff when we go to the mission office and that is Saturday for training. Yeah I ate at Fuddruckers it is in our area its so delicious I am going to send my memory card home today we are going to the rain forest so I want to send some pictures home with that. Yeah we cook a lot and our landlord cooks a lot for us also she is an older lady she loves cooking and she cooks us a meal almost everyday. We don’t have maids. I am totally good on contacts I have 8 or nine pairs left I am making them last as long as I can. But things are awesome we are teaching a few people the lord has blessed us so much the hard part was just getting started because we had to start out with nothing and we can see our work finally paying off. But its way sweet, I really just miss the cleanliness of home there is basically nothing clean around here, its beautiful but just not in the cities. Its way fun though I get to see two of my buds from the MTC more often because we are in the same zone so that is way cool. I am teaching this older lady she is reading the book of Mormon and loves it but doesn’t understand prayer and the importance of it but we are working with her and she is definitely progressing. Its way cool. So I have to buy as bike so I need just a little bit more money in my account because I have to buy one. But things are great I know that things will work out just pray for everyone that you know and everything will work out. The things that make us sad are only there to make us stronger. Dear Family,
I have written two letters now they should be getting there very soon probably today. We have had to change our P-days to Tuesdays for the last two weeks because of zone conference one week and the other reason was because we did not have our car because the zone leaders came in from one of the islands for meetings with Pres.Dewsnup so we had to give up our car for a couple of days but we more than likely will be doing email every Monday. Well I live in the area of Conovans you should be getting my address on the letter they made us write the first night we were here. My companions name is Elder Osterloh he is from Sandy Utah he has been out in Puerto Rico for 6 months so 8 months total. He is really cool we get along pretty good thank goodness because it would be so hard to have a hard difficult companion in the beginning. Well not going to lie I hated missionary work the first week I was here but pretty much everyone does. But I am definitely starting to love it now thank goodness. The guy we talked to under the light pole never showed up for our appointment so that was kind of depressing because he really seemed like he needed the gospel really bad so hopefully he next time the missionaries come around he will be better prepared. We can only teach those that are prepared for the gospel. But the exciting news we did have a daughter and a mom that we taught yesterday that were really cool they invited us into there house and we got to know them and taught them the first lesson and then they made a commitment to read the Book of Mormon and they committed to come to general conference with us on Saturday they seemed really excited she daughter had attended church when she was in Chicago so that was cool so they seem like they are definitely ready. Well the talk at church went really good so much better than expected because I always seem to choke and I didn’t so that was way awesome. Our chapel is located Rio Grande it is about fifteen minutes away from our appt. The people are pretty friendly here they are really prideful of there Puerto Rico. Well President Dewsnup is way cool we didn’t really get much time to meet him but I will over time, his wife is really sweet you can just see how much she loves missionary work, and can tell that she thinks of us as her little mijos. Yeah I got all the stuff I really appreciated the book it was way cute. I Know the ties that you sent me are polyester but there are cool ones that are thicker ties that are polyester there like 80s ties but I love stripes so any striped tie is cool. Oh yeah there is this girl in my ward her name is Naysha Rodriguez she was in Justin’s ward for a while she lived in Florida she said that he came over and ate at her house all the time her mom was in the relief society presidency but ask him about her. Really funny how things like that work out. My companion’s roommate at BYU Is named Elder Ringwood he is serving in Mesa so if you see him tell him that Elder Osterloh says hello. But I can’t really think of anything else right now. But I love you and thanks for all of the prayers I can feel the impact of all of them. We have a couple of investigators just pray for them to feel the spirit and keep there commitments. We don’t have any upcoming baptisms and as for the ocean were not suppose to encourage it but they really would rather have them in the chapel because they have chairs and the spirit is more present there. As soon as I have a baptism I will let you know.The area is actually not that bad it’s really fun I like it a lot. The mosquitoes are not really that bad. I love you all! Dear Family,
So well things are great I enjoy serving a lot. I really don’t think that I have ever walked so much in my entire life. I walk more now than when I sold candy. We have a car but we have to share it so we have it on the weekends which are way cool. It’s a good break. Oh yeah I never told you that I spoke in the MTC the last week we were there. It wasn’t a surprise I kind of knew I was going to have to. And I have to speak in church this Sunday. I am so excited not really. I hate public speaking but the people are really nice so they will understand why I suck so badly. Talking is not my favorite especially in Spanish. I am going to take some pics of my neighborhood and send them to you. Hahahahha along with the memory card. But if you haven’t got my letter yet I am opening up the area of conovanas meaning that there was not any missionaries in my area before me or they have not been there in a really long time. But what I and my companion have been doing is just trying to find people to teach basically we try to contact everyone that we see so that we can be successful. It’s hard because you have an area book where it has lots of names and such and ours has none so we have to find people. So my experience when we were landing on Puerto Rico it looked so pretty and it is and then we grabbed our luggage and walked outside and seriously instantly I started to sweat never in my life had I experienced something like that it was way crazy but cool at the same time. Then we stayed the night in the mission office and then went to the chapel where we met and found out where we would be serving. When he told me I was opening an area I was scared out of my mind. Seriously then it was all good. When I got to my area I was a little scared because its not the best area but as I walked around I felt that this is where the lord wants me and there are people around in my area waiting to hear the message of the restored gospel and I just have to have the faith to find those people. It’s so exciting. But what else is new with you?I will share a couple of stories so we have talked to many people, we talked to a guy last night he was sitting underneath a light pole and he looked really sad so we shared basically the first lesson with him and then we gave him a pamphlet we committed him to read the pamphlet he said he would and we left him with a prayer, then as we were leaving he had already started to read the pamphlet so I hope that he reads the whole thing and prays about it and receives and answer we are going to teach him tonight so hopefully he reads it because we want to have a real investigator that would be so cool. But we have met many people that is all we do all day long we have had many appts with people but we come by at that time and they never answer the door. This brings me to something else that is really cool so you don’t knock on doors here. You sit in front of there doors and yell muy buenas tardes o muy buenas noches. Pretty cool. We have the rain forest in our area so were allowed to go there on our P day we definitely will go and do that sometime. That will be pretty cool. So one of the weirdest things about Puerto Rico is that there are urbanizations everywhere and then right next door are huge Forrest’s or jungles and little houses in the middle of them. The language is coming along pretty good. The people are so hard to understand here. The first day I don’t think that I could understand a single word that was being said but now I am starting to catch on thank goodness. But I can talk about the gospel fine it’s just when they want to say something back to me when I can’t understand them. Ha-ha I just smile and act like I know what they are saying even though I don’t they think I do that is the funny part. But things are great. So the reason why we did not have p day yesterday was because we had zone conference so we had to do that. I forgot to get the Elder’s Mom’s email address’s but we have training meetings every Saturday and I see Alexander Olsen Drollete Hadley and Monson so that is way cool. Drollete and Hadley are in my zone so that is way cool and exciting because I will see them for a while. Well I love you so much thanks for everything. Send me some more pics of me and my friends and the family maybe some of the dogs. Oh yeah I am loosing weight. Remember how the dark blue pants never fit? Well now they fit so that is way cool. And the littler belt fits me I can go three holes in. And the big belt doesn’t fit me anymore it is to big it doesn’t keep my pants up so that is way cool. Well love you all! Thanks for everything!

Hola Madre,
Yeah I got the ties I absolutely loved them by the way I thinks it is American probably but not really sure so I am going to call in the morning on Wednesday as well as that afternoon. I am definitely going to call all the family and if there is time I might call a friend but probably not. This week has definitely been a long one, I am just so ready to get out of this place it gets a little annoying after while, just because we have been here so long. I saw Jeff I gave him a hug, he looked like he had no idea of where he was at its kind of funny seeing the new people come in because it’s just a big shock and it’s basically like you are living in some little dream world. Today was the last time that I get to go to the temple for two years that kind of stinks but its all good. So when does Dad and all of them get back? Am I going to be able to talk to them? So we heard from Richard Hinckley this last Tuesday that was pretty cool to say that I have been to a meeting with him and I even got to shake his hand. He is a really good speaker. So how is everyone else? How are the niece and nephews? Make sure that you tell them that I love them. I love getting little things from Gracie, always fun. If you could dear elder me my address in Puerto Rico we have not gotten a thing from them in the mail which is kind of surprising considering none of us ever got anything. We don’t really know what to expect when we get to Puerto Rico were all just kind of hoping that there is going to be a sign for us or something we don’t know. I know it will be fine but something would be great. Just dear elder me everyone’s phone numbers so that I can call them. When did you send the letters and things will they be there when I get there. So the Spanish has come so far I can’t believe how mush I know the crazy part is that I can teach the lessons in Spanish, it’s so insane. I really just can wait to be in Puerto Rico because I can actually get out there and teach people instead of always teaching fake investigators that will be way exciting. Yeah I know Max left on Tuesday I got a picture with him so that is pretty cool. He came in over a month after me and gets to leave before me, that is pretty messed up. Oh so your question about speaking the language this whole last week we have been speaking Spanish all the time so that is pretty cool. It’s called hsi or hable su idioma, speak your language. You learn so much more when you are practicing your language all the time because you are showing the lord that you really care about learning the language and showing how much you want something, and then he will give you the gift of tongues because you can say that you have been doing the best that you possibly can. Its been pretty cool at time speaking only Spanish but it gets so frustrating at the same time because there are so many things that you want to say but you cant so that gets a bit frustrating. Other than that it’s been way good. I am really just so excited to be out of this place 9 weeks of it and you will have definitely have had enough time in. I feel bad for people like Daniel who have to be here for 12 weeks like Daniel. But there are people that can handle it and Daniel will do just fine. So I hear that he loves the Mhong Book of Mormon that I gave him they have them in the bookstore. I decided to write my testimony in Spanish just for the fun of it I thought it would be funny to have a mhong book of Mormon with Spanish testimony in the front. Well Chelsea is engaged? So that is insane, is it the same guy she has been dating? Tell her congrats for me. She will probably have two kids by the time I get home that’s just crazy. Well I love you and have a good week.

Dear Family/Friends,
Oh I am doing wonderful we received our flight plans today. We leave the MTC at five in the morning on Wednesday the 19th. That will probably be the perfect time considering that will probably be the hardest day. We fly to Fort Worth Texas get there at 11:55 then we leave at 1:20 so I have an hour and a half to talk to the family. Then we arrive in Puerto Rico at 6:55. In my room there is Elder Olsen and Elder Drollete I sent a pic home of our whole group with the names on the back so that should be helpful. I am so excited to hear that Colten is doing great that makes me happy I pray for him everyday. But I absolutely love the watch it doesn’t make me break out at all so that is pretty cool. I absolutely love it. Really I have worn it everyday and there is no sign of a rash at all. So we are on the second lesson in Spanish so this week is our last week teaching it so that is cool. It just amazes me that I can actually teach a lesson in Spanish. Not in my wildest dreams have I ever thought I would be able to do that. It’s so un real. Can you really believe that I am really leaving this place and that it has gone by this fast? I am so petrified but so excited at the same time. It’s crazy to think that in twelve days I am going to be knocking on doors that is so crazyyyyyyyyy. But so exciting I can’t wait to share this message with the people of Puerto Rico I already love them. I don’t know this MTC experience has been pretty crazy, looking back at just seven weeks ago and the person I am has changed so much. You can look at the new elders and see, yourselves weeks ago; this place definitely helps you grow up. I would have to say that my favorite part is how much I have grown in the gospel. So unreal. I don’t know how many times I have said that but. So I am sorry to hear that Hollies’ Dad past away but that is the best thing to know that they will be able to see him again and that families can be together forever. As I was thinking about some of the happiest times of my life and they were definitely the ones where our family was just all together just talking and hanging out. How cool is that to know that this is possible to have that happiness everyday of the rest of your existence. It boggles my mind to know that we can be that happy everyday of our lives pretty amazing, what a great gift our father in heaven gives us. Families bring us so much joy. That is why this mission is so worth it to I get to share a message that will greatly affect the rest of someone’s existence if they just listen to it. I am just so grateful. So these last couple of Fridays we have done sealing’s in the temples, we act as the sons and then there is a couple. How cools is it to know that just in two weeks I have helped twenty families myself be reunited forever, and allowed them to become a forever family, because they didn’t now have the opportunity on this earth. I love the temple so much I love the work. I am so excited to go out and serve those people in Puerto Rico. Well how is everything else? I have not yet received the garments but they will probably come right before dinner so that is fine. So what else is new with the family how are the kids? And how are the dogs? You can send me some pics. Well I love you so much thanks for always being there for me!
